With reference to those people who have been having problems cancelling their service from MAAF..... I phoned and cancelled on 14th April. I was assured my service would cease 28 days later. No problems getting a MAC code. However they are STILL billing me. despite loads of phone calls all in my time and at my expense. The latest email from customer services has said my account will be cancelled from 1st July. They have closed all my "tickets" including my complaint. Next stop Ofcom.
The only response I have had is "well, you can still use your broadband can't you?" UNBELIEVABLE.
MAAF are ripping people off. They even billed me twice for my final calls and then told me I would have to prove it by faxing them a copy of my bank account. I have a problem with any IT company that does not have software that can recognise when payments have been taken......0 -

sorry to interrupt but if I were you I would ring your bank and cancel the direct debit immediately and if you have ever paid MAAF by card I would insist that MAAF remove your card details from their system and send you confirmation that this has been done....never rely on their word for it !0 -

I can,t access my email and online account though, payment has been taken up to 4/7/08 so probably won,t be receiving the promised email when the account is terminated.

Hi Neil,
If you gave notice of your cancellation request (by requesting your MAC Code) on or before June 4th, then you should not be billed further as this would be part of your 28 day notice period.
You're welcome to contact me once your migration has completed and I'll be more than happy to ensure that your account is closed accordingly.“Official Company Representative

Hi Kato_Lee
Your account (as per my PM) is now in a queued destroyed account so you shouldn't hear anything further from us. Because you're paid up until your nexst billing date, the broadband cancellation is scheduled to complete then (July 4th).“Official Company Representative

Although i am leaving MAAF to SKY because of better deal- i have had no problems with them at all.I like the support ticket system too as you can view your conversations with customer service.I think if they upgraded their 5gb package to the 20gb for the same price it would be pretty competitive.I bet James_PN will like to hear some good feedback for a change!
Some more praise from me. Although I had to endure 2 weeks downtime during my recent house move I found the customer services to be very helpful. I also agree about the ticketing system being very useful as you could see exactly what was going on and there was an entry for every telephone conversation.
Also a big thank you to James for his help.0 -
