    Hi Daniel,

I'm sorry to hear that you're a little worried!

Basically, we use a piece of software called SPG (Service Provider Gateway) which, as part of the order process will give us a list of properties on that post code, so that we can validate your address.

If it doesn't show up, we had have to supply details of your property. Whilst I'd hope that all will be fine, if you want to PM me with your username, I'll be happy to look into this for you.

    Hi Daniel,

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you yesterday. It was one of those days.

I replied to your PM about half an hour ago.

I have been having very slow speeds with MAAF recently - all less than 2Mb/s with an 8Mb/s account. Their support team could not find any faults and have advised me to change modem.

Could James_PN or any one else recommend a suitable broadband modem ? I have no interest in being wireless. At present I am using a Thomson Speedtouch 330 modem.

    Thanks in advance.

In honesty, the Speedtouch 330 is probably the most reliable USB modem I've ever come across.

So why not supply the customer with a router, like you give to new customers?

As far as I could tell, CrazyCod was looking for a recommendation on a USB modem and said that they would not like to go wireless.

    So I gave a recommendation.

Any router is better than a poxy USB modem and I was just thinking what Samara would have done!

You don't need to use the wireless part of a wireless router.

If maaf won't give you one, look out for a cheap (unlocked) router - you should see immediate improvement from your current modem. (Or consider moving to another isp who will either give you one or loan you one free!)
