There do seem some ISP watchers on the thinkbroadband website.

They are expressing similar concerns about plusnet taking over maaf:

    Hi Quentin,

I think that's perfectly understandable under any similar climate really. All I can tell you is that we remain an extremely customer focused ISP and providing a quality level of service to all of our customers is our number one goal.

I'd like to think that our commitment to customer services is apparent from our recent awards both at ISPA and from uSwitch. :)

I am the official company representative of Plusnet. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Well done on the ISPA award (though to be fair, the others you beat were BT, Tiscali, Orange, Virgin and Vispa).

And all the uSwitch award winners were either yourselves, talk talk or sky.

(And all the second places went to either yourselves, sky, tiscali, talk talk, or AOL)!

Bad news for us that Samara is leaving. Her responses on this site on a variety of issues and the high level of customer service she has given, has certainly been a factor for me staying with MAAF.

I will watch with interest to see whether the service levels remain as good.

Many thanks to you Samara and good luck for the future.

Well up to today i had nothing but praise for madasafish. But today i log on to the site and it looks nothing like it has done in the past.Full of boxes to the left hand side with small crosses in.It does show my details lower down but when i click on the link it says my session has timed out and wants me to log in again, when the same happens.

I have emailed them and i am not really getting anywhere. They suggest i reset my browser but i am loathe to start messing with things i don't understand as i have wrecked stuff in the past like that!! Is anyone else experiencing this? it is very annoying!!

    Hi Froglet,

One of our other customers saw something similar yesterday. Whilst his returned to normal (ironically after I had logged on as him to test it), sometimes it set help to remove your browser cache.

Are you using Internet Explorer? Let me know and I can then write you some step by step instructions as to how to be able to remove this and you should be able to access your account.

Please accept my sincere apologies for any frustration that this has caused you.

It's disappointing to see that there's so much unhappiness with the once highly rated Madasafish (a previous MSE tip).

Despite Samara's intervention Madasafish exhausted my loyalty last month (after two and a half years). I'm now a very happy o2 customer.

I hope Samara that you prosper where your skills will be better utilised.

Before you change broadband do see what existing customers think about your chosen provider at www.thinkbroadband.com both using the forums for each separate service provider (isp) and on the left of the home page using the compare broadband providers tool - which is generated from monthly feedback from existing customers.

I'm not really getting from this thread whether people generally like MAAF or not? Would you recommend it? I am thinking MAAF or BT, slightly more expensive but can get BT Vision (any good) and only 30p more per GB and the light user option is upping to 6GB from May.

mkdons, i get the same impression, ie. i really don't know if people like it of not, what i have noticed is the value of good, approacable CS to the business, and the customer loyalty that it brings. i have no doubt james and the crew will be as good, if not better, than samara but the rapport/trust will need some building, it does look like some less than happy customers stayed with maaf because of samara.
