Hi Samara
I still haven't received the MAC - can you chase this up please?
Just to add insult to injury, I tried to make a phone call yesterday morning, only to be told by a recorded message that there was a problem with my account and that I would be transferred to good old Customer Services. The operator informed me that there had been a system error (it's a technical term for 'balls up') and that I should be able to use my phone within the hour.
Lo and behold there was an email telling me that there had been a problem processing my payment of 60p (the 60p that I had to pay on my debit card a week or so ago!!!)
The sooner I get out of this contract the better !!!0 -
Hi Frugallass,
I apologise for that - I requested a MAC for you on Thursday of last week. I'll be chasing that this morning.
Kind regards,

Hi Guys,
The 31rst of March marks my last day in employment with Brightview Internet Services. The forums have been one of my favourite parts of my job role and I would like to sincerely thank you all for your time and participation. I have learnt a lot from you and it's been an invaluable education
The PlusNet Comms Team They will be taking over in full for all Madasafish forum work as of April 2008. Combined they have an in-depth knowledge of everything broadband, in fact I think that they're better than myself at technical queries. As winners of the 2008 ISPA for Best Internet Service Provider and 9 Uswitch awards I feel that I'm leaving you in good hands.
Wishing you all every future success.
Keep on Surfing,

Samara,
sorry to hear that you are moving on (hopefully on to bigger and better things) your assistance and advice will be missed
Good luck and best wishes in your new venture (are you going to share with us??)
Thanks again for everything
(Please don't go before I get my MAC!!!)

Sorry to hear that Samara. Best wishes for the future. Now my only reason for staying with BT, sorry MAAF, is going.
Can you sort out my wireless kit before you go?!
However, that could be irrelevant as I'm now seriously thinking of migrating elsewhere.0 -
Fantastic news, for you Samara - you are too good to be getting tarred with the BT brush.
I trust the Management will be getting you a really expensive leaving present in view of all the business you retained since the BT takeover from those of us who stayed Mad purely because of you. (Even though our heads said things would never be the same once Brightview sold out to BT)
Now you are going it will definitely never be the same again (we see already the Madasafish Customer Care Board Name is being replaced by the "PlusNet Comms Team", and they say it will take a "bunch" of them to replace you!)
Suppose this means no more Christmas winks from you then! You will have a great future. If it's in the same business maybe you can find a way to let us know where you are so you can take those on here determined to now leave BT behind with you?0 -
Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear that you're looking at leaving us on the back of Samara's news.
If you do have some outstanding issues, I'd be more than happy to help! There'll be a bunch of us from the PlusNet Comms Team who will be here in Samara's abscence to pick up any queries that any of you guys may have.
All the best,
James Bailey
PlusNet comms Team
I'm assuming that is directed at me James?
In spite of BT's takeover of MAAF I decided to carry on. However my main reason for this was the access to Samara's great service on here. That tipped the balance. Now the balance has obviously tipped the other way and everything is, it would appear, to be now run at the dictat of grubby old BT. It's started already by the look of things - eg. Samara leaving (or being pushed?).0 -
Hi Oldagetraveller,
Yes, I was replying to your earlier post
Have you kept an eye on PlusNet at all since the BT Takeover? We've remained as an independant subsidiary since the takeover occurred. Personally, having worked for Metronet prior to being bought by PlusNet, I too was very apprehensive about the acquisition, but really it's just been good news. they've invested into us meaning that we've been able to invest heavily into our own platform, getting ourselves to a stage where we've been winning awards.
Now, whilst I'm absolutely certain that Samara will be missed, by you guys as much as us, I do hope that you'll come to think that we're also perfectly capable of dealing with any issues that you guys raise, as we've done for our other customers as part of the "Comms" role
Look forward to "talking" with you all over the coming week, months and years!

Why would maaf customers keep an eye on plusnet? BT took over plusnet last January, long before the fateful day they took over maaf.
But now the plusnet team seem to be taking over maaf! And there is no doubt things ain't what they used to be!

Hi Quentin,
No reason at all! I was asking out of curiosity more than anything else. There are a number of people that do keep an eye on the ISP Market and I'm sure that some of those may have been curious as to whether or not there will have been any changes to PlusNet after the BT acquisition. I'm not saying in any way that I would have expected MAAF customers to be looking at other ISPs!
As that article has stated - Time will tell and I hope that you'll all be pleasantly surprised.
