    Whoo that sounds bad Wilfie!

    Have you checked the settings on the modem as I had an initial connection problem but things are going fine now. Can you connect using the network connection instead of USB. Maybe the modem is faulty?

    PM Samara with your problem as he is generally quite helpful!

    Thanks Cheghead for your suggestions. I have already reset and changed the modem along with new filters. I will try using the the network connection and the ethernet cable as opposed to USB.

    Hi Samara

    I have been with Madasafish since March 2006. Unfortunately, since that time I have not been able to use the internet more often than I have been able to! I have spent hours on the phone to Technical Support but I am still having problems.

    Usually when I try to use the internet I get the 'Page cannot be displayed' error message or the 'Access prohibited' message and so end up using a dial up connection. I am also having problems using the phone. On the rare occasion that we have been able to use the internet, if we receive a call during that time we loose the internet connection. Our call quality has also deteriorated. There is a permanent crackling noise on the phone line which gets so bad that we are unable to hear the caller!

    I have spoken to BT about the crackling noise and apparently there are no faults with the line. They were also surprised that we receive broadband as our phone line is 7km long.

    Are the problems that we are experiencing due to the length of the phone line or is it likely to be something else?

    Please help!

    I've used the ones that were sent with my order and I've got them plugged into all of the phone sockets that are in use.

    It does sound suspiciously like a microfilter problem... It could be that we've got a faulty microfilter in the mix.

    Could you please pm me your username and I'll get my tech team involved?

    Also - I know this sounds really silly, but I've seen a few customers neglect to put a microfilter between the sky box or fax machine and the phone socket. This will cause interference. It sounds like that you've got every phone socket in use fitted with a microfilter, so it's probably more likely that the problem lies elsewhere.

    Thanks for the PM.

    I dont have Sky or a Fax machine. I've double checked and we only have two phone sockets in use, 1 for internet and one for the phone, both of which have microfilters plugged in.
