So I realise it is early days in the 'sale' of Madasafish but I for one have looked out when my 12 months contract is up. Or will I automatically get sucked into another 12 months when the sale goes through?
As someone has already said 'If we wanted BT we would have signed up with BT'
At least Madasafish has a rep with her computer looking at this site 24/7 (or so it seems)
I bet BT hasn't got someone doing the same.0 -
BT are taking over the existing contracts, so your 12 months period will remain from the original start date.0

:rotfl:Thanks, I only have another 2 months to go so I am probably OK.
I have already got a replacement but that particular one is not an option for anyone outside of a 10 mile radius of where I live.0 -
hope someone might be able to shed some light on a (prob stupid ?)question
i am currently(happy) using madasafish for broadband and have been looking at transferring to the talk package. i have been told by BT if i transfer my line rental to maaf BT will no longer be responsible for the maintance/upkeep of my line.is this true?Lead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0 -
Hi Borderlakland,
BT Wholesale help us troubleshoot and maintain the quality of service for Madasafish Talk Customers. It's exactly the same as if you were getting your phone service through BT retail; they're dependent on BT wholesale too for the maintainence and upkeep of your line.
I think that you got some bad advice from BT Retail!
Kind regards,

Hello All,
As promised we are sending out an email to all of our customers explaining how BT have bought Brightview Group. This email is just leaving our systems now and if you're with Madasafish you should be getting a copy shortly.
Fundamentally it is business as usual and please feel free to contact me with any account queries, I'm here to help!
Kind regards,
Samara

Dear Samara
BT has announced that it has acquired Brightview Group Limited, the company that runs the Madasafish service.
What do I need to do?
You don't need to do anything. Your email address, connection details and service will not change. Our dedication to providing great customer service will not change.
So what does this mean?
This is great news for Madasafish customers as it gives us access to BT's resources to bring you exciting new products and services. We'll email you with more information in the Autumn.
If you have any questions about this news, don't hesitate to drop us an email to care@madasafish.com or call Customer Services on 0844 395 0830. Our lines are open between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards

Provided that she's migrated away prior to when the invoice is due (which sounds like has happened) I can cancel that invoice - but please get in touch with me soon, the 15th isn't really that far away now.
Could you please PM me with her details and just reconfirm that she's really migrated away. Cancelling the invoice will cease her services with us entirely if she hasn't migrated away.
What she's been advised is not usual policy - if her service was to extend beyond the next billing date than she would have incurred the invoice. I'll make sure that this is also addressed.
Thank you
Kind regards,
Samara
I recently joined Talk and then cancelled and switched back to BT but was charged another months line renta by madasafish.com.
I was told that 28 days notice was needed and would have to pay it.
I only switched back to BT line rental because I understand madasfish will prevent me from using 1899 or any other overide providers.
Tried to moneysave and got hit with another bill .0 -
Hello Samara, are there any plans to update the MAAF website to advise that it's now BT?
It would help potential users to come to a more informed decision before applying for MAAF braodband.
Or have your/our new masters put a block on this information so that new users only find it's actually BT broadband under another name after they have signed up.0 -
Obviously, not unreasonably the shareholders will do well out of this buy out but out of curiosity Samara, avoiding marketing speak do we, the customers, actual get anything out it? If so do please provide details – if not, regrettably I will have to give serious consideration to finding another ISP at the end of my commitment to Maaf.
Also I switched from BT to Maaf as my phone supplier as I did not like BT’s arrogant and peremptory alteration of the terms of supply, and also (as proved to be correct in pactice) reckoned that I would save money. Presumably there is no way BT will allow this difference to continue and I will now have to either switch back to the monolith or make alternative arrangements?
I d hope that you personally will survive the inevitable coming reorganisation and continue to supply your excellent service. I have my doubts though as this would rather show the significantly lesser standard of service which many BT customers report they receive, usually at a higher cost.0 -
Hi,
I'm not impressed at all with the customer service I am getting.
I sent a recent e-mail asking for my MAC code as I may be moving ISP soon, but they want me to call in to them. I did this to the "Saynoto0800" number but they would put me through and said I had to dial up the 0844 number which I wont do on principle. That switching ISP may happen sooner!!
I have replied to their e-mail asking for them to contact me on a land line number which I am on during the day. As yet nothing.
Can I get a MAC code and keep this for future use or does is have a time limit on its use?
I currently pay £17.99 a month and have been with them for the past 18mths but feel this is not value for money any more, especially when talktalk can offer me line rental, same service broadband, and unlimited day/night calls for a smidgen over £20.
Sorry but you guys have lost your edge:think: :think:0
