Hi Samara
Hope you can help me too!
I've just moved into a new house, and would love broadband (preferably wireless). I have just had a BT line installed and i'm on a seriously tight budget.
Talktalk and Virgin seem to be offering much better deals than MAAF, before I make my final decisions, is there anything else I can do with MAAF to make my broadband bills any cheaper?0 -
OK, I'm hoping anyone can help with this query. On the back of this thread, I signed up to MAAF yesterday. I have just received an invoice for £18.98 which includes delivery of the wireless router and VAT, and covers me for 14th Aug-13th Sept.
However, I then received another email that states I should expect to be connected on the 23rd August. My question is.....Why am I being charged for 14th-23rd August (before I am actually 'online')!...I thought my invoice would start from first date or activation
...or am i being thick?0 -
Hi reformedEffortMaker,
The initial billing is confusing! Here is how it works:
We take payment in advance for your first month of service with us. However your billing period won't commence until your services go live. So if your services with us go live on 23 August, you won't see another invoice until 23 September. This way you aren't paying for the time that you didn't have your connection live with us.
Please do keep posting or PM me should you have any queries regarding your account, I'm here to help.
Kind regards,
Samara

Samara,
I am with Madasafish MAX Broadband and Madasafish Talk Free. I joined through moneysavingexpert with £1 off (I think) for each service. I might want to upgrade to Max Plus soon. How much would I have to pay for it? Would I still have the initial offer?
Will PM you my username . Thanks.0 -
Samara, Im whingeing again with regards my apparent obsession with speeds.:D
For ages my synch has been about 5.5/5.6 with a corresponding consistent download of about 4.3 indicated on "speedtest". I always use them for consistency.
This might be a coincidence but since the BT takeover both have dropped. Now my synch is 5.0 and has been for a couple or more days and download about 3.7. My download did fall to 678kb/s at one stage. Could this possibly be BT gradually exerting their influence to slowly reduce speeds hoping nobody will notice?
My home set up has not changed at all.0 -
Hi Samara
Currently on Madasafish MAX paying £17.99 a month. Happy with the service but looking to save some cash and Sky have sent me a few letters/emails as I have Sky TV offering me BB Mid for £5 a month (£90 year inc £30 set up fee) + Free Evening/Weekend Phone Calls.
Is there anything you can do for me?
Cheers

Hi Oldagetraveller,
We've not made any changes to our network.
I've had a look at your account and on 16 August your BRAs went from 4500 to 4000. A throughput speed test at 3.8Mb would be about right for a BRAs profile of 4000.
If you're sync has consistently been around 5.5/5.6, this is good news and would mean that your BRAs profile should raise shortly. You would need to maintain a sync higher than 4000 for 3/4 days in order for your BRAs to update.
Kind regards,

Hi Samara, buts it's fallen to 5.0, as posted, see above, has been and still is like that for, I think, four days now with the corresponding drop in download speed.0
