Hi DonnySaver, I've been on and ordered our Sky+ HD and it looked like the cashback was £60. I thought that was still a good deal so we've gone and ordered it, but when I checked back on my Quidco just now, £130 has tracked! :j :T
Is the cashback just for new Sky customers, or can Sky customers upgrading to Sky+/HD get the cashback? It's not worded very well!

I'm afraid it's new customers only on the Quidco deal (or must have been away for 12 months etc etc) and you mustn't take the free line rental/broadband deal. Crapwithcash was very lucky to get £130 tracked - well done !

I rang Sky last night and took the same line as someone on here suggested - that I was unhappy with new customers getting all the deals and I was cancelling and going to Virgin. I was really polite and the bloke said 'If I can get you the free installation would you be interested ?' to which I said yes. A minute later he came back and said 'As you are a valued and long standing customer not only will we do free installation but also give you the box for free'.

Absolute result ! Saved £80 for a two minute phone call.

Just about to sign up for this deal with SimplifyDigital, but before I do, could someone please confirm the 'Free Line Rental' part, because when I get to stage 3 of the ordering process, it says:

Sky Talk: Once activated, you will continue to pay BT for your line rental and for some calls, for example calls to BT operator services.

I thought line rental was included and therefore I wouldn't get any further bills from BT?

Also, if after 12 months we decided we don't want Sky any more, will BT charge us a reconnection fee, or will it be free to go back to them?

Hi Ruthiejane, Its for new customers unfortunately. Our sky was in my OHs name so we will cancel his account nearer the time of installation. I had Sky in a property about three years ago, but apparently if you have been away for more than 12 months you count as a new customer.

Good Luck if you're going to go for it!
  • just rang SKY(01506 831609)

i threatened to cancel my subscription unless they offered me a deal on sky hd box(without multi-room)

    hey presto!
within seconds he offered me a free hd box (£30 installation)to be delivered next friday 19 june

There is a similar deal with Quidco but you don't have to take the line rental and the cashback is £60 instead of £55 from the simply digital site.

I went with the Quidco one because I use Quidco anyway. Sky are also giving you a free £50 Tesco Voucher. I just thought it was easier because there was the option not to take the line rental if you do it via Quidco - hope this helps you to decide!

Isn't there a big risk that they will realise that you are the same household and subsequently charge you for the box? Or do you and OH have different surnames? We're married and do have the same surname.

  • I would probably want to use the dish and box for Freesat transmissions . Is this possible if I choose the Free Sky+ +£25 cashback offer.
