the best deal with sky is hd box for 49 with free install and it is the best hd deal about also for the 10 pounds a month you get at the moment 18 hd channells automatically and can receive up to 33 depending on your package. well worth ten pounds a month its 4 x better and clearer picture and far superior sound

any other information required please email me and i will answer:beer:

Well I already have a sky package (about to drop to entertainment, music and kids, I really dont watch the films) so what deal could I get with HD then?

What about upscaling? Does it to that to the SD signal? As thats the most irritating at the moment.

Please bear in mind that if you do go for a sky box of any sort it is always your box & not the property of sky.

All that means is after the first year you are liable for all repair costs unlike Virgin so sky would charge you £65 per visit. If they do replace your box is will ALWAYS be a recon which only has 90 day waranty on it.

    Hope this helps.

I took out the Pay once watch forever offer back in September 2008 and cancelled it in January as to be honest I was not watching sky very much and resorted to the freesat option which I still watch today. However circumstances have changed, so I am now considering sky again.
    Long story short:
As I was using POWF offer and got free skybox which I have to leave plugged in for 12months to the phone line which still is, does that mean I cannot subscribe to this offer as a NEW customer?
Also, like other questions I am unclear about the BT / Sky phone line rental question
Sky Talk: Once activated, you will continue to pay BT for your line rental and for some calls, for example calls to BT operator services.

I contacted Simplify Digital to take the £26.25 deal for the Sky+ HD package only to find out that because of my postcode (I live in Northern Ireland) I cannot have the 2Mb broadband in the package but have to pay an extra £17 per month for this. I contacted Sky and it is because I am not in a Sky network area. They did offer it to me for £10 per month but I know I could get it cheaper with 02. I just wanted to make other people aware of this.

I recently signed up to Sky +HD through Quidco. Their offer was £49 for the box and free installation + £120 cashback and £25 Tesco vouchers AND you get the first month of HD free! Apparently, the cashback has now also gone up to £130.

This offer is for new Sky customers only and you don't get the phone/broadband bundle.

    Worked for me though !

Hi There, I would be interested in this as I LOVE quidco... did you just do a search on Sky in Quidco or was it through another company? I could sign up as a new customer to Sky as I've never had it in my name before, plus I don't really want the phone/broadband bundle anyway!

If you could let me know I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Oh dear ! BAD news I'm afraid. Just been on Quidco and the cashback offer has now drop to just £60 !

My husband has been a Sky customer for 15+ years at three different addresses. We got married a year ago. I have never subscribed to Sky. In our area the choice is Freeview (with poor reception), Sky, or terestial TV(until March 2010). We love the discovery channels, but don't have any of the film or sports channels. As far as I can tell we wouldn't get the discovery channels on Freeview.

We have different bank accounts, but the same surname, and obviously the same address. The queston is, would I be a new customer so that we could have a "free" Sky+ box?

  • What would be the best for me to do?

I would like Sky for the Cricket in the summer - I've never had Sky before.
    • I do not have a HDTV (might do in the future).
    • I currently use my HUMAX Freeview HDD recorder (so not that bothered about Sky +)
    • I have a BT Landline
What would be the best option in my case?

    Thanks.

If you sign up for Sky now with just the basic variety pack then after a week or so you may get an email from Sky offering you Sky Sports for free for 1 month. So, you'd a month of cricket free if you're lucky.

With regard to not being that bothered about Sky+; I don't think you have an option. All Sky boxes (as far as I'm aware) come with Sky+.

If you have a BT landline then fine - no problem.
