    So all in all not too bad. However a lump sum of £120 is harder to budget for than saving £10 per month.

  • Still waiting for our £55 cashback for taking the HD deal on 17th June. Cashback was due by 17th September as I had read the small print and added the email as a task to my google calendar.

    Have phoned Simplify Digital a couple of times to be told they are going to call me back which of course they havent.

    Anyone else not got their cashback?
  • Likewise rang simplify five times to track my cashback, each time told someone would ring me back. After three weeks got someone who told me the cheque comes three months after ordering and it should be in the post this week. Lets see !

    Also checked my sky bill and being charged line rental. Sky person said not aware of any such offers and I should take it up with Simplify. Not looking forward to going through that again but at least i can quote Nexxd's conversation and result.

  • Just spoke to Craig from Simplify Digital Customer Services who assures me that he will get my 12 months free line rental credited to me from Sky.

    Spoke with Craig and he said is going to confirm my status with Sky and send my cashback. This is strange as I was told just wait one more week for your cheque to arrive last week. :confused:
  • I was thinking of going to Virgin as I want HD, and spoke to Sky cancellations who couldn't really offer me much of an incentive to stay (although they did offer me £45 off the HD box install). However, the chap I spoke to hinted that the name, not the address, is the account holder.....so I pondered on that thought.

    I decided to cancel it. Then re-ordered it via quidco in my wife's name.

    A little bit cheeky, I admit - but then what happens if a couple separates, the husband cancels Sky before 'leaving' and after a few weeks the wife sits there on her own in the evening (or with her new bit of stuff etc.) and wants Sky back? She comes to Sky as a new customer, doesn't she? Sky don't know that hasn't happened in our case.

    They haven't confirmed the installation date yet but Quidco have confirmed the cashback as 'tracked'. Certainly not counting any chickens yet but even if we just get the free HD install for new customers I'm still up on what they were offering me before.

    Craig got back to me after a few days and said he had spoken to Sky. I will get my 12months free line rental, but i think it is from now not from when I signed up, so I would lose a couple of months line rental if I left after the minimum twelve months. Still a result :beer:

    However still waiting for that elusive cashback cheque !!!:rolleyes:
  • I have now received my £55 cheque from Simplify Digital. I also checked my Sky account on Interactive, and have been credited with the line rental which I had paid up till now. This means my 12mths free line rental started from day one, and not when Simplify Digital sorted it several months later, so I can leave (or haggle) at the end of the original 12mth period.

    Last weekend filled my Sky+HD memory with films using the free weekend pass for Screen1HD. Nice one MSE.:beer:

    If you don't normally have the Movies pack you won't be able to play any of them back.

    Sky+ playback requires that you have a sub to that pack on playback when whatever you have recorded is decoded.
