Am I too controlling over money?

Now, look here young lady. I hesitated to have kids in any of my lackadaisical relationships and met the man of my dreams too late to have any kids. I don't regret not having kids with their potential fathers; but it is too late for me to have ANY kids now; did I curl up and cry or just get on with it? I've never ever felt that there is no future - and nor should you. Stop talking yourself into a misery; new year, new start; you've just got a few boxes to tick [and he's got boxes to pack] before you can make a start. I don't want to read any of this talk again - it is not you.
Some good harsh words there Juliff,
Happy New Year to you and your daughters, here's to a better 2010, because it can't be much worse0 -
I would like to point you toward Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver in their current starring roles as very foxy ladies.
Frankly I like to think I have a number of years to go before I achieve that level of mature sexy hotness.
I am looking forward to my 60s immensely. I am going to have an appallingly good time.
You are very welcome to join me on my adventure holidays in exotic places once I retire. We can go see interesting things during the day. I will tie a silk stocking on the hotel room door if it is not safe to come in.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Hi all,
So sorry to have been so self pitying the other night. I am ashamed of myself. I am 46, not 86!!
Younger than Carol Voderman! hehe
DD1 is still not speaking to her Dad. The other day,she said - why should I - he's horrible. I didn't know what to say. I feel sad that he will not grow up and sort things out with her, but at the same time relieved that she can see why my position was untenable.
He has been packing stuff up today. Kids have been home (snow), and they haven't mentioned anything about it. I had to go into work, as no show, no dough for me!
Also felt sorry for DD2 as she had no-one to play in the snow with (DD1 went out with her friends). On the phone I suggested she asked her Dad to help her make a snowman, but she just said "No, Dad never does anything like that with us - he never has". Again, so sad.
He is downstairs now in his room (aka the dining room) playing his music REALLY loud. He used to do this a lot, but this is the first time in ages. Walls are vibrating.
Zazen999 - you are a mighty lady! I will aspire to be more like you.
Yes, there are things I want to do - white water rafting, join a canoing club, visit NYC, Grand Canyon. I also want to take A level Italian (I used to be fluent, bit rusty now).
Emmzi - whats on your list?
Best wishes and thanks to you all."Carpe Diem"

Hi Juliff,
Well done on pulling yourself up from the doldrums. :T It's nice to see you have a list of things to do when you get your social life back. Don't worry too much about DD1 and OH as once the dust settles, their relationship might take a turn for the better. Nothing between them is yet permanent.
Keep on keeping on as you are doing brilliantly! xPlease call me 'Pickle'

well, after breaking the hearts of a dozen billionaire (a million will not be enough by the time I hit 60) self made men with movie star looks, I would like to,,
- run a student boarding house for a year to keep in touch eith the young folks and teach them about jazz music
- do a season at a vegas casino singing while draped over a grand piano
- publish a best seller
- make a mint by producing affordable fashion for the more mature lady in anything other than polyester
- fund a centre where people who have had a hard time can come to chill, heal and rebuild their confidence through amazing coaching and experiences
- become prime minister and pass legislation banning exploitative docutainment about depressed fat and skint people.
- have someone name a cocktail after me, and all over the world people walk into a bar and ask for an Emmzi on the rocks.
Hmm. Yours look more realistic, somehow...Debt free 4th April 2007.

Enjoy your week :beer:I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Booker T Washington
