Am I too controlling over money?

Erm, are you going to describe this lovely new MSE-style purchase or not? I feel the need to enjoy it vicariously.
I'm dreading to hear about what feels like will be the inevitable fall-out when hubby finally realises that the savings money-train has ground to a final halt. Is he completely and utterly aware of what's left in the coffers?0 -
Well, in the words of Waynetta Slob he is going to spend, spend, spend ,spend, spend.
As far as I am aware, OH is buying a quarter share in a 2 bedroom apartment. He is paying cash. They have accepted him, because he got my solicitor to write them a letter to confirm the settlement he is getting, which by anyones standards, is a fair old chunk of money.
He could have afforded to buy a 50% share, but of course then he would not have such a large wad of cash in his back pocket, and may have been forced to look for a job!!!
As it is, he will have a load of money, which I am sure he will burn through as quickly as possible. Makes me sort of wissh I hadn't saved so much - I was thinking of the kids and university, and also I was trying to offset my mortgage as much as possible. Oh, well.
Had an email from MORs ex, who tells me that MOR has been taken to see the apartment, and it is really nice. Hope the kids don’t want to spend all there time there, and none with me."Carpe Diem"

How big is the appartment? Is MOR living there with him? I doubt your girls will want to go there they don't seem too keen on your ex.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

First of all, well done for getting this far Julliff!!! You being so strong and you don't appear to be burdening yourself will every crisis that arises recently.
His spending will not be your problem for much longer. You may still cringe at his spending habits, but in time you will shrug it off and think to yourself 'silly git'!!
Keep going, you are nearly there!I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Booker T Washington

I wonder how he expects to pay the 75% rent, and bills......oh well the sooner he leaves the better J, I'm sure your DD's will like the initial 'new and excitingness' of Dad's new house but they'll soon get bored of it unless he bucks his ideas up!!It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

BitterandTwisted: It s a bright red mid length twill coat, reduced from £80 to £40. It is quite simple and plain, but looks smart for the office. Well, it has got to be better than the George anorak I am using now!!!

No, MOR will not be moving into apartment - he is off to another town as he has found another [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE]girlfriend. Poor her.
Had a call from the Doctors surgery tonight. They want me to take in DD2 in the morning to discuss the urine test she had at the walk in centre the other week. That's made me start to worry now!! Has anyone else had this sort of thing?"Carpe Diem"

juliffe - a red coat says so much - cheerful and confident. What a great statement.
I agree with scubaangel - there may be einitial exitement re dads new place but the reality will soon kick in - with you they have a home.
Sorry , don't know what to suggest re dr's. Presumably she went to the walk in centre for a reason? Urine tests are done if you have symtoms aren't they so may show a mild kidney infection?
Keep meaning to ask what MOR means (I guess it is ex's best friend tho)I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
My thought was kidney infection too, and they require anti biotics to clear up so that would be why they need her. Don't frett honDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I've been guessing this means "man over the road" though I may well be wrongI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Juliff, I haven't posted in a while on your thread but I keep reading and following your progress. I am so impressed with what you have achieved.
Re, the doctor's, I hate it when they do that. Don't they realise how worrying it is for a parent? Or a patient? Like others have said, try not to worry. It doesn't mean there is a major health concern.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012
