Oh yeahAll providers have to. They may and try to tell you different to get you to take out their expensive insurance *cough* sorry care packages but in reality you're covered.
I disagree with iceburn as basically if they sell you a contract of a certain length and the equipment to use on that contract at the same time you're basically buying a package of the 2 items. It is therefore reasonable for you to expect that the equipment purchased will last the life of the contract it was purchased with or if it doesn't to be replaced or fixed at their expense.
The reality is they just collect your phone and send it to a SE repair centre to get it repaired/replaced under the same warranty as you would :rotfl: So it's academic and comes down to whether it's easier and quicker (or wiser depending on who you're dealing with) for you to give it to the dealer you bought it from or go direct to the manufacturer
Note this does not cover damage which is your fault! Which is why you need separate insurance for loss and accidental damage etc.
I'm with Vodaphone and have a 17 month old SE w960i and my touch screen has broken twice.11th month and 13th month in and all I've done is call customer services report the fault and they tell me to take it to a shop for assesment.
The 1st time the shop went OK it's a free repair & gave me a receipt. I popped my sim into my old SE s700i and got a text 4 days later telling me to pick it up.
2nd time I'd cracked it (my fault totally but I thought try n blag it  ) they assessed it and said £40. Got it back in 4 days. (Could of claimed this on my home insurance but with a £25 excess decided £15 was worth less than my no claims bonus)0 -

That is what I said speedfreek you are talking about Sales good act. And in actual fact one reason why I said the phone and contract are seperate is cause it is. For example the contract might be only 12 months but if it is resonable for the phone to last 24 months than they have to replace / fix it upto 24 months. Somewhere (I think it is on Which website) there is a chart that show what is "expected lifespan" for washing machine, tv, mobile phone etc etc.. But it is why if network change something in the contract you can cancel the contract and keep the phone :-D, cause they are seperate :-).
As you said at the top which I said as well earlier the networks / shops (this is not just a mobile phone can look at forums for tv , pcs, washing machine etc etc.) will try and pass the buck / say you need warranty. It is why the govt made some law recently with extended warranty.. But for some like Comet they made most of their profits on the warranties in the past.0 -

Timed Out usually means that the internet connection is so poor that it can't cnnect to the video. I think.0 -

I have been looking for a GPS and wifi phone for a couple of months and this one has zoomed into my radar. I am going the cashback route and this one seems to be one of the cheapest with both of these functions.
There are a couple of concerns that have arisen after reading this thread.
It has been mentioned that the phone needs to have wifi enabled as priority in order to stop GPRS jumping in first. What if there is no wireless network around and you inadvertently try to get on to the Internet? If this happened I would rather not connect at all instead of incurring gprs charges. Is there a way to turn off gprs altogether?
Also what is the GPS like? I don't think anyone has mentioned using it yet. What are the fees like and can you download and store maps via wifi?0 -
Hi
Just to keep you posted, I had to reset my 1st phone 3 times and each failed same problem kept coming back, got a new handset last Saturday lasted until Wednesday and it died, wouldn't charge, switch on or anything, so just got another handset today, anyone else having problems? (I'm on Orange)0 -
Had mine nearly a week (Vodafone, Phones4u, think it's 300 or 600 mins with unlimited texts £25 a month) and not had a problem with it yet.
But I was wondering, how dya manage to make wifi the priority?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
