  • Hi Mooloo, have been a lurker for a while, if you have no nursery local, what about asking social services whether DGD can go to a childminder for a period of time?

I have been asking SW to find a place for DGD in a nursery, surestart place, or playgruoup, but her reply was well you will have to use the money twin1 gives you.
I am going to have to find a place myself. Find out howmuch it will cost, and then FIGHT for every penny I believe it will cost me.(Above- the £50 child tax credits that TWin1 is going to give me starting next tuesday).
As I am Kin, the SS are not willing to fund anything. Never mind the "cost" of my looking after DGD 24 hours a day. I knw that fostering charges on the government website pays £106 a week for a child.
I know that people are getting money, that the Child protection Act says I am entititled to it. I know that the Fostercare line also say I am entitled to funds. I also know that people get items needed supplied. It just seems that Northamptonshire SS are not interested in helpingme.
My working links advisor has posponed my next interview until February, as I have DGD and all of these problems, but she said that if I become a carer, properly, I will loose my ESA, (which is higher then the Income Support/Jobseekers by about £20 a week.).
So I will have to be careful that I am not breaking any benefit rules as well!.
    No peace for the wicked.

Our Freecycle in Towcester is very small. So I am keeping my eye open. Perhaps I better put a Wanted sign on it.
I have the last of some Vanish Action stuff in the washing at the moment. I am hoping that that will save some of the clothes.
Only have the bleach stuff for the loo, Would that work on the whites? Will give it a go. Anything to save spending extra money, as I am worried stupid that at the end of the year I will have yet again a massive electric bill. But I cannot leave DGD in rooms with no heating, as she tends to take her clothes off!
(Aparantly my mum said I would do that too!! Oops).
Hoping to hear from Biggest of Mooloo's see ifshe is coming to get DGD to go to MK this morning, or this afternoon?
My Dad is coming today, to change the TV he lent me. Ready for his trip to France.
Lending me a better one, that has digital TV in.So I should be able to get more channels over christmas anyway.
    Looking at the positive today.
Well I am trying to be positive. We have food in the cupboard, and now we have petrol in the tank again.
We still have about 2 weeks/3 weeks worth of wood. So I can pay my electric/gas which I didnt get around to doing yesterday, and then I can probably get another half load of wood in a fortnight.
I just have to change my life style, and get used to a 2 year old hanging on my every move!.
I was in bed by 8.30 last night.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Ring your local MP and get an appointment as soon as possible. See if he can help you fight.

After all you have not just got a cruel daughter who is treating her child bad, you have a daughter with disabilities! Surely you can quote the discrimination act?

Mooloo, I know that you do not want to do this, but maybe you should speak to the Head of Children's Services (overall boss in charge of children's welfare), and tell them that you cannot carry on looking after your DGD without any assistance so unless help is given ASAP in the form of adequate financial support, childminder / nursery place, equipment and advice / support you will be bringing her to their office for them to find a foster family on Monday morning.

Or contact your local councillors & the chief executive of both town & county councils to tell them the same & that no help is forthcoming despite you being advised you are entitled to it.

Problem is I couldnt "dump" her on them. I couldnt live with thinking that I had put her with strangers in care.
But I will be pushing have no fear.
I will not give in easily I promise.
Now as she has gone with Biggest of Mooloo and her new BF to MK, I am going for a soak in the bath!. Then get the little jobs done that I cannot manage with little hands.
Health wise, I am bearing up, but I am aching a bit more then usual.! Just exhausted by the end of the day.!

    .!

You dont neccessarily have to follow through ,just be convincing then you my get some real help as placing children with foster carers costs more than informal family arrangements

I think the perfumed stuff(bleach )would be ok but check on the bottle first

Well I had a bath, wish there was enough hotwater to have a good soak, but alas the water heater is too small. Did my best, took a cup of tea and a couple of custard creams to munch!.
Had a reheated curry from Wednesday for my lunch.
My Dad has come to swap the TV that he leant me, and as far as I can see I have now borrowed a better one!. Yeah, its got a DVD in it. Did someone answer my call from above?:A:T
So I now have a Digital ready, freeview, dvd tv! How great is that! Good old Dad. They are off to France next Sunday, and are worried that I will not manage. I have said I will be fine.
Had an informal chat with the Houseing officer, that originally helped to place Samantha into the Hostel and then Bromford Housing. She is now aware ofmy situation.
She said that we need Bromford to send a copy of the letter terminating Twin1's accommodation, and also a letter from SS, about my situation, to be able to get me higher up on the housing list. But even then it will be Months before they could help me.
I will now have to go the telling landlord, and asking about my family coming, as it breeches my tenancy. Then I will probably have to leave my little cottage.
I really am fed up. But trying to be positive as much as I can.
Should have done a lot more before DGD is back, but I am cossetting the peace and quiet.
Nto expecting DS home so I wont have to do the 60+ miles I did yesterday.
Not expecting BF to come over either. So I can get into my pj's and dressinggown and snuggle up when DGD goes to bed tonight. Hopefully she will be tired out when she is returned.
Have a couple of pork chops for tea, with rice, and cabbage.
Got a soup simmering away, with veg from the garden, and the remains of the meat left on the chicken bones, when I did the stock yesterday.
Been back on the Grocery Challenge, Wheezls challenge, and even managed to read a bit of my very old copy of "Down with Superwoman", to get me back into the mood to do things.
I only feel a bit bad about not altering askirt I was supposed to have done for one of the other volunteers this week. But as I was not charging at least thats not so bad.
The lighting is not so good to do it at the moment. Need to sort the bulbs out in there.
I am getting to the stage that I am remembering all the things I should/want need to do, while I am sitting here typing but I dont always actually get things off of my list and done!!:D:rolleyes:

When you have spoken to the landlord, make an appointment with the local homeless officeas with DD and DGD you may find you are in a priority group for housing, as it is not through any fault of your own that you have been put in a situation which has breached your tenancy, thus putting your accommodation in jeopardy.

Did you get very far with a solicitor for DD? And have you heard anymore from the SW re more help for you & DGD?

Would a playpen be of use to dgd? So your not running around after her all the time:confused: Could you put a request for this on freecycle? or you can use a travelcot - which i am sure you have just to give you an hour break to clean or sew or rest:p whilst she plays?

BAby is sleeping in the travel cot, upstairs, too big and too heavy for me to keep putting up, and down, to bring down into the room I am in.
    My cottage is TINY.
I have a meeting with the WelfareRights/solicitor with DD next week, on Friday.
Social will be given another letter from me on Monday.
I did call today, but not able to reach the one I need.
Have found out name of local councillor, and his address/number, so I thought I would start with him, then the MP.
I shall keep my eye on Freecycle, and put a wanted list on.
Still no sign of help. Frm SS
