Fostercare line, just got back to me, with some interesting information. As mentioned I can claim help financially as the "placed her in my care", and thatunder section 17 of the childrens act they are responsible.
I have to write a letter explaining my situation, the way things are etc etc, which doesnt help me at the moment, but its a start.
Got to go, DGD needs me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Huge hugs mooloo :grouphug: everythings a bit "up in the air" as they say isnt it. Waiting on replys from the ss / council and babies are a handful. what time is her bedtime ? 7? she will be resting soon and so can you:D0

I think an early bath & bed for DGD & Grandma is best for both of you tonight...Fostercare line, just got back to me, with some interesting information. As mentioned I can claim help financially as the "placed her in my care", and thatunder section 17 of the childrens act they are responsible.

That's good news - the SW is trying to save money by fobbing you off, but we won't let that happen! Mooloo, please be honest & realistic - tell them that you only have your ESA to live on in a draughty house with very poor heating & you are on ESA because you are ill yourself. Also stress that you have no financial reserves to fall back on (as they have all been used up) and you need the assistance up front & as soon as possible to be able to provide for your DGD.
Hope you both have a good night's sleep.

DGD is finally asleep. About 30 minutes or so ago. Iput her to bed at 7pm, when her Cbbies finished, but she was protesting a bit. Not screaming or crying. Just talking and shouting a bit, but she was no real troubl.
I fancied a long soak in the bath, but its so cold in there, and I wouldnt hear her if she woke up. You cannot here between rooms much as its such an old building the walls are so thick!.
I have amended my ASDA order, that i put in last week, to add nappies. Thats all coming tomorrow, and the £121.17 which is a huge amount is the December groceries bill. So I will have to make it last until the end of the year. (I do have £80 worth of Tesco vouchers to fall back on,)
I have been on the £4,000 a year thread, and appart from the heating bills etc, I wll be trying very hard to keep up with the budget.
I still need to update my Microsoft Money, but tonight, I think that I will have an early night.
The good thing is that as DS didnt come home, I dont have to drive him to work tomorrow, he can get a bus to near the village, but will have a long walk. But that was his choice. Think save the Petrol.
Twin1 is not expecting to see me tomorrow, as its my village coffee morning. I will take DGD with me as she went down quite well the last time we went. Then maybe take her across to look at the sheep in the field nearby. (Weather permitting).
But we have to be home for Mr A. delivery between 12 and 2pm.
Right, tomorrow is another day. We have survived another one. Although I have had to delay darling grandsons birthday. He was 2 today. But I didnt have the energy to go shopping and get his present from my parents, etc I will call into Argos on Wednesday. Then go and see them later in the week.
(grandsons real dad was there, and as a lot of you know, he and i just do not rub well together, so I had no intention of visiting at the same time as him.).
The bank may be practically empty, but the tank on the car isfull, and the cupboards will also be full. including a stock pile of toothepaste, nappies and such.
Thanks for all the hugs, its really helping me to "soldier on".When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, DGD slept until 6.15am.
She is currently watching some Cbbies on the tv and drinking her tea!. She loves tea.
Had a shower this morning, she sat on the floor of the bathroom with her colours. Forgot about Privacy going out of the window!.
Its bitterly cold. The fire is on already. I had to go out for more logs. At this rate I will need more logs before Christmas!. Ah well there is enough for this week. Mr A. isdelivering that huge delivery today. So the cupboards will be full, and we will have nappies etc for a few days.
I am affraid that this Christmas is going to be a bit sparce as I was planning on making the decorations and presents. But with DGD I just do not have the energy, and I left it a bit late to start! Always something going on.
Not sure I will be able to go and see my BF this weekend, or next to be honest. As I really do have so much to do here.
DGD is into everything. So I need to babyproof the place a bit better then it is.
Wonder if I can get help with any of that! I could do with DS to come home and keep an eye on DGD while I attack the place, room by room, cupboard by cupboard!.
Could do with a few more appropriate toys for her. May have to search for some on Freecycle or the charity shops.
DGD is dancing to the TV now. Wants to go out to see the horses at the other end of the village.
was going to put the kettle on for a cup of tea, but its nearly time for tea at the village hall so I dont know where the morning has gone. Perhaps we will see the Horses and sheep later. Must be in for the delivery. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

That is a wonderful offer. Thankyou.:A:A
I will send you a pm. Only if you are sure, and able. DGD will be thrilled to have something of her own. Most of the toys they all have were toys I got them when I was working in the charity shop, when they were born.
The people on this site are very heartwarming. I am humbled by all the hugs, and good thoughts that wend thier way here. :T:TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo, I know you have lots on your plate at the moment, but you should be aware that the tannins in tea prevent iron absorption. When I did my nanny training many moons ago, we had it drilled into us that we must never give our charges tea or coffee. I am sure the odd very weak tea will be okay, as long as it isn't drunk with a meal though.0

Hi Mooloo
Just popped in to offer you a hug.

Didnt know about the tea. Will becareful. Its mostly coloured milk though. But it all adds up. Surprised the SW didnt flag that one up. She seems to have a gripe about everything else.
Right we are off to see DGD's mum this morning. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
