I had never heard of a fatquarter until looking at Ebay. Seems its something to do with Quilting?
    Hope this helps.

    What is a fat quarter?
This is one of the most common questions we get asked! Patchwork fabric is usually sold off a 110cm (44") width bolt – a fat quarter is half a metre cut off the bolt, then cut in half again, so it is approximately 50cm x 55cm (20" x 22") in size (a ‘fat’ quarter metre). A long quarter is simply a quarter metre cut off the bolt, so the finished size would be 110cm x 25cm (44" x 10").

Seems a good way to make a lot of money from a small piece of material to me :D

good news about the hole in the wall ,if you cant get the cable end through but you can get the cable through you can fit the plug yourself Wilkinson and such sell them if you can wire a plug you can fit one or as someone suggested ask the landlord if he could.

I too never sold in fact i am not sure i have bought anything either  i usually use a friends account if i sell anything

Well My Mum and Dad came over. I think that I must be a very lucky woman, as my Dad has said he will help me find a small secondhand car, when and if I can sell my big car. So I wont have to buy a complete banger!.
Mum also agrees that swapping the rooms around would be a good idea, for the cosyness, the light etc
Talking of cosyness, the bad weather is on its way here, the wind is howling down my chimney and its getting dark even in the brightest of rooms.
I have had my lunch. Now i am closing down the computer, and making myself move into the other room and start to sew!. I wont get anything done if I dont start!.
Thnks for the information about the fatquarters etc. I shall have to bare that in mind, as selling some fabrics for quilting/patchworks may be something of the future/and also when buying fabrics its a good idea to know what they are selling. Why we cant just have by the metre or yard< I will never understand.

Been following you all with this canning idea, but I am not sure I am doing enough in the garden yet. Maybe next year.
I have started to make a handbag out of some white jeans, and I have appliqued on some dalmations and bits from the dalmation fabric, and lined it with dalmation fabric, I have used a Red ribbon as a belt around it. But I dont have any zips that I can use for the opening, so I will have to keep my eye out for azip so I can finish it.!
Now I am going to unpick a few cushion covers that I have received. Thanks to Maya!. There is also a lovely remenant of fabric that I am going to make into a table runner, hopefully.
Now my chicken curry, is ready so Its time for grub up.
Econamy Gastronomy on tonight. Wonder if there is anything i fancy making out of that. (Scaled down to my £20 a week!! for two) Actually its mostly one these days, so I may be able to reduce it. But not yet. as I want to stock up for the winter and the days when I am unable to get out and about.
Shaz I will have my fingers crossed for you that you do not need an Operation.
    Thinking about you.

Right, cushion covers unpicked, and pieces ironed. I have decided that I will make a tote bag out of some of it. The table runner, and possibly I will use the fabric to make some dinner mats. If I can find something that I can co-ordinate it with.
While Economy Gastronomy is now on, I am going to unpick the curtain header tape of some childrens curtains that I want to change into a moses basket.

Biggest of Mooloo's was supposed to be coming to collect the cravats but apparantly her Dad was going to go and see her, so she cancelled.
I have put the hotwater on for a bath later, as I am a bit sore, and want to soak my bones, before taking the heat pads up to bed.!
No spend day today, as I still dont have the car to go out anywhere and I resisted buying anything via the internet. (Not that I have any money left to spend anyway.)

Great news about the car Mooloo. I hope the hot bath & heat pads bring you some relief.
I'm off to the charity shop soon to see if I can find anything exciting to refashion, I'l have a look through my stash when I get back to see if I have any zips I can send you.

I was thinking of having a look on Ebay for a zip, but to be honest the cost of postage makes it not quite so Viable. I am looking for a 12" zip for the bag, in white, or possibly Red, as its for a handbag made out of White Jeans, and lined with the dalmation fabric that has red collars and bows on it. So I used a red ribbon as a belt through the loops.! (Mind you if I cannot find one, I can wait to find one when I get back out to those charity shops.!). Thats one thing I miss, rummaging.... Perhaps I will have to look at the clothes I have and see if there is anything I could part with. Problem is I got rid of so much to move here, that I am not sure I have anything suitable.
Think I will go and do some sewing/preparation for a while, with other things.

Hope you enjoyed your rummage Hester,:j

Mooloo, sounds like you are quite settled with your own company, as long as you can keep your hands occupied!

Yes, surprisingly I have adapted quite well to being here on my own. Although I dont feel I am on my own as I am here on MSE! My friends on here are my company, which is less hectic as my family running around.
The twins still ring me when they want something, but I cannot help them. I had twin2 on telling me that the social still hadnt paid up yesterday. All I said was that sorry I cannot do anything about it, but that they should be asking their Bromford Housing contact to help, or thier social worker. She said he was on holiday, so I said then get on and ask for the duty social worker!.
I felt guilty, but I cannot help them. I dont have the car, or the petrol money to take them to the jobcentre. I agree they are in a predicament, but I am not able to run around.(Actually not having the car is a good way to learn to say No to them, as I have a real excuse.).
I have cut out a handbag from one of the cushioncovers I unpicked, and found some dress fabric to line it with. So its all ready to sew after lunch.
I have a headache, had one for a while since yesterday, and I am a little worried that it is to do with my head being in the wrong position for too long.
Iam going to go and have a lie down, and lie flat to see if I can get rid of it.
If that doesnt work, I will have to take re think.
