Fingers and toes crossed for the Child Benefit...

Just been to the post office, package on it's way to you :)

    Double thanks :T:D
I have just altered the neck of the last ofthe cravats I made earlier. Hopefully that will be the last I see of those. (Next time I must remember to ask for the neck measurements first!).
I have been tidying in the dining room, and trying to make a bit of room so I can be comfortable and not dance around the table everytime I want to do something.
Still not sure about being able to swap the rooms around. Forgot about the plug sockets and the TV areal etc. So it will remain to be seen.
DS has gone to his mates, so I wont see him until Thursday afternoon, and then he goes off again to Newport Pagnell for the weekend.!! So I am here in the cottage to do what I want, at what ever time of the day it is. So if I cannot sleep, then I can get up!!

Can you do the "research" while the house is DS-free? Like working our how many sockets, what type (aerial, cable, phone, internet etc) you need for what you want to swap round? Or do you need him to shift things to check where sockets are?

I can measure things with a tape measure, I cannt move furniture, thought. I have no idea where the cables go, as when we moved in I let the "man of the house" sort it all out.
I think I can move the sewing machines and the tool box as thats on wheels, and I can see howmany sockets there are there. ButI think there are only two sockets in the dining room. I have already got 4 in the sittingroom, and they have extension leads coming out of each of them.
I think the problem is I am worried about the TV. Cos if there is no way of having that in the diningroom/swapped into a sitting room its a no goer, not just for DS, more for me. (Having said that if I had a tv where I was sewing, I would probably sew more! I like it on in the background, bit better then I do the radio!). :o
I shall just have to learn a bit of patience I suppose!

Aerial extension lead might work. Only cost a few quid.

The dining room is smaller then the sittingroom by quite some feet. It also has three doors going into it. One being the cottages front door. Although I dont usually use that. My beautiful wall unit is in there at the moment, and Iwould probably have to keep it in there, as the sittingroom doesnt have a wall that hasnt either got a fireplace, storeage heater, window or door!!
MM. I think I will get my parents opinion when they come over tomorrow.!

Right, the spare sewing machine is up and running. Cleaned etc. Lost all its books and accessories, but we can use the same ones as the Silver, its just the foot pedals that are different.

I seem to have lost a footpedal to my Newhome Combi. (Mind you i vaguely remember my daughter taking the plug off of it for a light in the loft in the pub, so it probably got left behind in the pub!). But at least I do have my overlocker and two sewingmachines working now. So lessons will be easier in the future.

Just moved the table around, but it was a bit too much for me, so there is no way I can do anymore today. It will have to wait for DS to come back.

So you'd have more space if the current sitting room became your dining / work room? Would the smaller room be used if the tv was still in the larger room? i.e. for radio / music, reading, quiet time? And is there room for the tv to stay where it is & the suite & dining table to be swapped over?

You could always ask your landlord if he would put a couple of extra sockets in...or change any single sockets to double ones for you....

cosier then? as long as you can get some furniture in if all you do is watch tv in there it doesnt need to be huge and it will be warmer too!!

Good you have the equipment sorted a spare lead should be easy to pick up on the net i had to get a new pedal for a machine a while ago and it cost about a fiver

I picked up some lovely fabrics in doncaster yesterday i think they were old sample curtains about a yard each there were 4 pieces for a pound enough for at least 8 cushions and some leftovers but am tempted to sell them as fat quarters on ebay (have you seen what people pay?)

I need to get more motivated i have lots of ideas i must put them into practice .....................i wish i had an overlocker it gives such a professional finish

    Hi Shaz,
I think the other room being a cozy room, with the wood burner, is probably agood Idea.
The more I think about it the more it seems the best option.
At the moment the sittingroom is also much brighter, with two big windows, which means that I havent got to put the lights on all the time. When I am in the dining room I do tend to have to put the light on. Thats 5 in all as they are wall lights!.

There would certainly be more room to move around the table when cutting out etc if it was in the current lounge. I have found a hole in the wall that feeds the old satilite cable between the two rooms so perhaps I could feed the tv cable through that one?
Mum and Dad are coming over now, so I better go and get on. Be back later.
This afternoon I am hoping to start making another handbag out of some white jeans that BF's daughter was throwing out.

I had never heard of a fatquarter until looking at Ebay. Seems its something to do with Quilting?
Ebay listings are still free this week I think? But I have never used it to sell, so not sure how to yet.
