:hello:Just popped on as BF is mowing the lawn. I cannot help him on that one. Infact he had to get up early to take is daughter to her part time job, and brought me up a cuppa in bed. Luxuary.
We are off out for lunch too. (On him).
I have so many ideas running around in my head at the moment. When Iget back I will be cleaning up the car, and getting it ready to sell. If I can find a buyer in this economic climate. Then I will see if I can afford to buy another one.! (its the running of a car on ESA that worries me.
I have a lot to do when I get back.
Including moving the dining and sitting room around, so that the warmer fire of the log burner, currently in the dining room will be the sitting room. Then I will also have the lighter brighter sitting room, as my dining/work room. All if the sofa and chair will fit in!.
I will be making a few more draught excluders, and craft things out of the rememants I have, and I am desperate to start to make the lining for the moses basket, for the next grandchild on the way.
On Tuesday we have the village coffee shop morning, and I will go along to that, and check up when the hobby club starts up again. I want to go to that too.
I think that the more of the clubs that I can go to, If I have an interest, would be a good way of getting to know the locals.
I met one lady across the road on Friday, as we were in the middle of a power cut.
I had gone knocking on the door opposite to see if it was my fuses, or the village. And a lady (oops I forgot her name already?) was putting rubbish in her bin, so I asked her. Ended up chatting (in the rain) for quite a while. She is also 48, with 4 children, and divorced. So we have a few things in common. Although she said I was one up on her as I have a boyfriend. ! She also said to call on her anytime, if I need anything, and she did mention a lift.? So possibly I could arrange things around lifts out of the village???
But the postage of all the crafts I am going to sell (I am aren't I???:rotfl:)
Then I will need transport, or enough sales to let the post man come and collect it,.Ha ha:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning all,
Hi Floss, wonderful news about your son.
Wish mine would sort himself out.!
Still here in Oxford, so little I can do today, except research.
I am definitely not going back to the old shop to volunteer.
I want a No Spend Day, as I have near as damb run out of money. Less then £50 in both accounts, and its scarey!.
I feel desperate to get home and to start making the little things that are easier and able to stock pile to sell. I am hoping that I have enough threads and accessories lurking around to be able to not spend anymore on things until I manage to sell something. One Cushion and 4 cravats is not enough to live on!!
My last Child benefit goes into the bank today, I think. I really need DS to get onto some sort of course or other so I can claim and extension of it. That will hopefully help with tax credits etc.
I am sure that there must be more then ESA for me to live on? If he is still living at home.
The Working Links woman did not send me any information that she was supposed to do for me. She is useless. Just wants to gossip more then anything else.! She is very young afterall.
Something else to chase up when Iget home. Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day, so I better make the most of my day here in Oxford, researching on the internet, finding places with insprational help etc. (While I have use of the computer, as once the kids get up, and there is movement, I will probably have to get off of here.)
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Mooloo could you post on the benefits board to check you are getting everything you are entitled to?

    Is DS claiming JSA?

I shall hop over there now.
No he is not claiming anything. I cant get him to get off his XXXXside.
Tomorrow the man from connextions is coming again. Hopefully he will be home for him this time.! I am having trouble getting DS to face up to reality. Thats probably why I am now so broke!! None of my kids think I am telling them the truth when I say I am running out of money! Well I have now. There is nothing in the bank (Except the rent money).
Hence needing to get my act together and try to earn a living with the sewing? But I think that that would take a very long time, and I am needing the money now!
Trouble with me is I am useless at searching for things. It always takes me round the houses and I usually come out not knowing anything at all except confusion!!
As I have all day today, (unless one of BF's kids want the computer, which I know they will when they get up- as they tend to fight over it anyway), I will use my time to try and research again.
I am not bad enough for DLA. Been turned down 3 times now. And to be honest I want to rise above my problems and dont want to argue that I am bad, I want to be positive. If I am not bad enough for DLA then thats good, cos it means I am not so ill!! (Well thats the theory I am trying to believe anyway).
    :cool::rolleyes:

  • Would it help to write down all your outgoings and then beside it write what is coming in and then discuss it with DS so he sees reality written down rather than thinking you are just 'nagging' as most of our kids seem to think when we are trying to drum some reality into them.

He should be entitled to about £50 per week I think JSA but he would need to adhere to some rules to keep the payments going. If he claims it you then need to decide how much he has to hand over for his 'keep' and this needs to be set out clearly before he gets his hands on it and starts planning what he is goung to spend it on!

When I get back tomorrow, the man from Connextions will be at the house, around 11.20 so I wll come back from the coffee morning earlier then usual and ask him a few questions as to whats going on, and what DS is able to do, and then I will sit down and re show DS the budget. Its all written down, and have tried it before, but I dont suppose it will harm to show him the actually bank balance!! Then he can see it for himself. Alongside the budget.!
I have been searching on the benefits board, and think that I will probably have to post a question as 20 pages read and not what I want answered!.

Seems like I am getting all that I am going to be entitled to. Checked it on the website.
Wonder if there are any "back to work" payments on ESA, if I turned my hobby into a proper business> eventually.?

Mooloo, are you entitled to housing benefit towards your rent? And council tax benefit? Or even any tax credits?

Have you looked on https://www.entitledto.co.uk ?

Floss, I do get housing benefit and council tax benefit. Although I do believe I will be loosing some of it come 1st September.!
I think that I am getting all that I am allowed, as I failed to qualify for the DLA. If I had that, then so many other doors open.
But I must be positive, I am going to find out what I can about help to go self employed, etc when I next go back to the jobcentre. They can do some work.
It looks like I may be entitled to £100 -£25o Job Start Grant if I do get work, but I am not sure what other work I could do, then work for myself. That way I can work around my disabilities.
Right I have been on here so long, reading and searching, I am in too much pain, on the computer.... Neck and arm don't like it. Tablet time for me, and a rest. Maybe read a while.
    Back home tonight.
