Have you thought about contacting your welfare benefits adviser at the CAB? They will sort out all the stuff with your DLA for you, including filling out the form for you if you need them to......they will also write the appeal if you are turned down.

Most CAB's have one, and because of your circumstances you would qualify to see on - one less thing to do for you at least!

Hope you feel better as the day goes on :)

    xx

I tried to contact them before, but there was a 3 months waiting list! So a bit late. However I will get on with it all today. I rang and spoke to someone who said he would let them know that it may be returned late.
I shall try and defog my head and get the paperwork I need to copy etc and send done today at least.!

The lady has been about the contracts for the carer help, and so the funding should be into the account soon.. It can only be used to pay wages for 10 hours a week, and the excess has to be accumulated to cover the public liability etc and the wageslips, labels and timesheets etc!
So another folder needed for the contracts and the terms and conditions etc.
Now I am having a cup of tea, and resting as I only have 45 minutes before I go and collect DGD from Playgroup. I did decide to take her in the end, so that I could concentrate on the visitor.

I collected DGD at 12 and went onto collect DS too. I popped into the garage shop for my bits and peaces as I really couldnt face the supermarket.
Yesterday I had cooked a chicken and a small ham joint when the oven was on, so tonight dinner is the chicken, with some potato wedges and prepacked vegetables:o but my arm is not good today, so the easy way is necessary.

DS has been helpful and he helped hang out the bedding and put another load on, and made me some tea when I asked. Heeven looked after DGD for nearly 2 hours this afternoon so that I could have a sleep. (Although she did slip away from him and wake me up!)

  • Hi Mooloo,
I had a fab holiday thank you x
With regards to the bedwetting have you thought of investing in an extra waterproof sheet so that you can make the bed up twice in one go, that way if she has an accident in the night you remove the top sheet and waterproof sheet and underneath will be a dry sheet and dry waterproof sheet. All you would need to do then is change DGD and pop her back in bed . Hope that makes sense.

I'm glad I got it right re: twin tracking.

We do see some cases through work where it seems SS are only going through the motions of Twin Tracking, because they are already sure that the child(ren) will need to be adopted, but you can see the logic of it, and it does give mum a chance to 'prove' herself.

It also gives family time to come forward, had one very recently where a distant family member came forward at the 11th hour and that child will now have some brilliand opportunities and stay within his birth family.

And when a child IS adopted, there is evidence that strong birth family 'attachment' in the early years is very very helpful to adopted children, so never think that the efforts you've put in will be wasted: your love and their mum's love and their cousin's love IS making an impression which can't be removed.

Absolutely and one of the reasons Mooloo should be asking for contact with the boys - 1 full day once a month is not unreasonable.

I fear that there isn't going to be a family member able to step in. I wish there was, but I cannot see it.
Today I have been taxi driver Mum, as DS left his wallet and his buspass/college pass at his friends, and so he couldnt get his money out or get the bus etc. So after I had dropped DGD at Nursery we drove on to his college. He was talking/grunting about there being some work at the racecourse on Thursday, and I mentioned that he needed to talk to his Tutor etc as he really needs to do his work, and that it seemed a bit pointless to me, to loose his £30 ema for £30 working at the racecourse, and then have to catch up with his college work? I didnt tell him that he cannot do it, its up to him, but I think he was understanding that the study was probably going to have to take priority. We will see.
I have to go back out again at 3.45 so that i can go and get him. (this will be 2 round trips, so 86 miles!).

I found an old pass book for savings account that I knew I had, but had lost in all the moves. The £15. is now £16!! ha ha. I took it to the building society today and had it updated. Mind you I am annoyed as I wrote to them saying that I had an account and had lost the book and they came back with a letter telling me I didnt have an account. So there search wasnt very good was it!
Perhaps I can slowly put funds there out of the way, once the move and the festive season has been and gone.

I saw my Mum and Dad this morning, had a couple of cups of tea with them.
Took the childbenefit information to the council.
Caught up briefly with my old friend, who i hardly see anymore.

Then I am home with the DLA papers to do next.
I feel knackered. I was up at 5.50this morning.

Ok Vi, I have slowed down now. kettle is on for a cup of tea. I have finally finished filling in my DLA forms and photocopied them. Ready to put in the post in a little while when I go to collect DS.
I may have to get Twin1 to concoct the evening meal when I bring them all back.

Just watching 60 minute make over, and apart from them drilling a hole in the wall...
But it did make me wish that when I get the council house in 3 ish weeks, wouldnt it be lovely to be all done for me!! ha ha.

That reminds me, I must contact the removals firm we have chosen and provisionally book them.

But first its that cup of tea!.

    .

    that sounds like a plan.

really is there any way that you can get DS to help you out in exchange for having to drive him around today. you will be done in after all that driving.

I would be tempted to say "ok I will drive you to college, but in return you have to do x y and z to make up the time and effort that I have used up on taking you to college due to your mistake in leaving your wallet at your mate's house".

there's no need to have a row about it, but you have done him a favour and so he should return it. thatwould be the case even if you were fit and well to be driving around - which you aren't!

I have drunk my tea, and used the time to speak to the Housing Association, (keep calling them the council but they are different these days). She is going to see if she can find out for me if there is a gas point for a gas cooker as thats my preference. I told her about me putting the lid of the casserole dish onto the wrong wring the other day, and it was on, and it exploded all over the kitchen. Boy that was a mess,(and of course I melted the dustpan sweeping it up as well!!).
She said that she didnt have any information on the sizes of the room, and that i will have to wait until viewing day, as they have not got much information on the property, as it was such a long time since anyone from the council had been allowed into the house.
She also said that she had forwarded my email about the preferences I needed i.e. right handed sink drainer and the like, to the works department. So I might be lucky to get a few things inplace before I get there.

I also spoke to Bromford Housing who helped the twins to see if I can get any help with this move.

Still waiting for the SS to come up with the petrol costs! ha ha.

Right its time to go and get the errant DS. I will get him to promise to help me with the garden on Friday so making him stop home on Thursday night! mm.. Well I can try.

Better go. (and yes I am exhausted and I will be handing over the family to look after each other tonight and retiring to bed ASAP).

It looks like an older council property, so chances are it will have a gas point in the kitchen. Take it easy.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
