Right, I fear I have used up all of todays spoons, and its only 4pm.
I did a few of the basic household jobs that were on my list. Basically the beds, the bathroom cleaning, 3 loads of washing, the odds shopping, two trips to Towcester first for Twin2, second for DS.
I have repotted 3 hanging baskets, and a couple of other pots, and weeded the bricks at the front door step. I have tidied up some of the empty bits in the greenhouse and swept up some leaves etc (after fixing the outside brush with some duck tape!!)
Collected DGD on time, made our lunch, and cooked a gammon/ham.
So probably its no wonder I am exhausted.!
Oh and i have made an appointment with the Solicitor for next week, to see about him proceeding with an applicaton to the courts for Special Guardianship for DGD.

The other jobs on the list have been taken out of the monday slot, and put behind the Tuesday one.:o

Now while I am resting for 30 minutes, I am going to compile a few more bits to the invoices for SS for my collecting twin1 etc earlier in the year. (Which I may or maynot get back!)
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

EEk, if the Social were to actually pay me for the petrol invoices, which I have gone bck through the diary for et etc, I would be about £1,000 better off!!!
I doubt they will have the budget left to pay it out to me now. But we can try. The social workers here on Friday said I was entitled to claim it, as it would cost them more to have done the collecting/delivering and paying for supervised contact, so lets print it off, and get it in the post!!

    One more job tackled!

If you don't ask you don't get. Someone in SS will be needing smelling salts !

Thats why I have broken it down into individual months, as some months we were sharing a home, some months I was going to Northampton,(in the beginning,), and some months she didnt bother so its all different.
May be easier to get if its broken down that way. They will realise its not a plucked out of the sky invoicing then too.

The information about SpecialGuardianship allowance, they have said will be £113.84 (stopping £20 a week, child benefit will make up.) except while DS is eligeable to childbenefit its going to be less for DGD, as second ones are reduced.

I am off to have a look at the Entitled too site, and see if they can come up with the things I may need to know. Ready for a budget etc. My budget has been so varied throughout the year that is for sure, but at least I have money in the bank accounts and some small savings. (even if they will be used to move), its something I didnt have at the beginning of the year.

So looking at it, my fortunes really have changed for the better over the course of the year (with several blips, but then it wouldnt beMooloo's struggles then.)

    :T

Yes thats why my SW from the foster team told me to get it done and submit it.!
I am going to see if I can email it, and also put a copy in the post just in case.
    Each team works differently.

Twin2 has surprised me by coming over and visiting this evening, with a couple of her friends. (alas not my favourite people) and they arrived just as I was putting DGD to bed. So she read her a book, and carried her up to bed. But I went back up for the hugs and cuddles DGD was shouting me for.
They stayed for an hour, and have offered to help with the move, but I am cynical, her eyes were all over the place and she asked where some things were these days! and I wondered if there was ulterior motives.

Tomorrow DGD is at Nursery, DS goes to college, and so I have the day to myself. Today was my parents wedding anniversary, so I will be popping in to see them, as I didnt manage it today, before they go away again for another week.
Oh and of course the Todo List of jobs I didnt manage to do today, as well as some of tomorrows actual ones??? mmmm
Can I have somemore spoons each day please!? :D

    Hi All,

How lovely to be missed, I have been keeping a eye and all seemed stable, but when Mooloo does something she does it in style and the thread explodes!
Congratulations on the house, it may not be exactly you want but I have a feeling you will be very settled and happy there and you are so creative and imaginative you'll soon put your stamp on it and it will be a lovely secure home for you and DGD.:j

You are right I know not much more about furniture etc than you have already been told, although asa foster carer you are entitled to equipment for the fostered child (car seats, beds etc) however I am concerned about the way the Special Guardianship is being done, and not least of all how twin1 is being treated with regards her PR etc.

DGD is a looked after child, the LA should therefore be making permenancy plans for her and putting it to a court not telling you to make an application to the court. In this case she is a LAC and they should be making the application. They have to pay your legal fees, they will have agreed rates with solicitors on the childcare panel, they have to provide support - but unlike a care order their responsibility can be time limited or withdrawn if legisaltion changes.
Special Guardianship basically means that you have PR for DGD and are morally, legally and finacially responsible for her.
If they went to court under normal care proceedings then DGD would be now on an Interim Care Order and would have a CAFCASS guardian who would help decide what is right for her in the long term and would protect hers and yours interests whether that be as SG or foster carer and would report to the court what was in their opinion best interests of the child. An assessment of twin1 would be carried out and would be on record if she has more children (this could be important in the future). She would have her own representation and the options explained to her, the whole process would be driven by the LA with the guardiand opinion being taken into account. It is utter baloney that they have to assess in any depth a partner who doesn't live with you in this case not even in the same city.
I get the feeling they are trying to push this through as quick as possible and treading roughshod over your daughters rights as a parent (the outcome won't be any different, but she still has rights) and bullying you into making decisions frm their half baked information and ways of working, by basically threatening you with SG or nothing, no guardian would support that style of practice!

What does your solicitor say? Has twin1 even seen one?

    Regards
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

    Thanks Gizmo,
I shall be seeing my solicitor on Monday. So I think I will print out this little bit and take it with me for some advice. He never did get back to me, after I went to see him in August I think it might have been now? not sure. Time flies so fast in the Mooloo household.

I am looking forward to being able to decorate a house the way I want it, havent been able to do that in quite some time. 10 years I think?
Well I could have decorated the Pub I had, but apart from decorating the bar areas I didnt get time to do the upstairs!

Its good to know your still looking over my shoulder. I really do not know why the rush apart from them wanting to reduce thier case loads, and tick the boxes. Its sort of mild threats under the surface. If your health gets worse etc etc. was the slant this week.
That I would need to go through to stage 2 of the fostering process and that may mean loosing DGD if my health was not tip top, and that i would not have a say in where she is able to go etc.
That they have no intention of persuing any further tests on the mother and that the mother's solicitor has said that the mother is happy that DGD is with me.
Arm twisting if you ask me.

Today is my day to myself. Till 6pm tonight I am a free bunny.
So I am going to spend a few minutes checking out my emails etc, then I am going to do the jobs off of my index card. With a bit of metime somewhere in the middle.

Have a pan full of carrots dug up on Sunday that need to be used up. and a huge courgette.

Last night twin2 turned up, so she went home with a massive courgette too. Lets hope it doesnt go to waste.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
