Congratulations Mooloo!! I had a sneaky feeling you would get this house and I'm getting quite excited on your behalf. I really hope that you finally settle in the new home. Things always have a habit of turning out right when at the time things looked bad. It looks like you are turning a new corner for the better.0

yes it was gismo111, I think I have her phone number somewhere, but the only information she would be able to give me really, is more about the guardianship that is also going to be going through. Depending on the financial settlement, i.e. the amount of allowance i should be able to recieve for DGD. But I may already have enough information. I have to instruct my solicitor to apply to the courts, and if Legal Aid doest pay for it, Social will, as she is a "looked after child". I believe my fostering allowance will be matched, minus the christmas, birthday and holiday funds. So as this year we have now had the last two there is only the christas bonus left. Apparantly they arrange a package for 2 years then review it on a means tested benefit. So at least I should have the same weekly income for 2 years which will allow me to plan and budget so we can still holiday.
May have missed Choccymouse, have a brilliant holiday. Wonder if your stopping with you folks in Lagos. I never did get that far.
Have to keep re running the video clips of the dolphins at the zoomarine for DGD, and the video of her swimming around in the childrens pool.!!
Re the move.
The council house comes as an empty shell, except for the bathroom fittings and the kitchen cupboards and sink.
I have requested that if it is possible could the new sink have a right handed drainer for me, rather then a left, and could they liase with my OT and install the grabrails etc there instead of here. Seeing as my landlord has not returned the rquest anyway.
The bathroom and kitchen floors will be tiled. (Marley style!).
But the bedroom floors etc will probably be wooden. (That was the thought of the woman in the office yesterday.). Though she didnt say what the sittingroom would be.
I could indeed put vynl flooring down. It would be easily washable and I do have a couple of very old, second hand, and hand me down rugs, I could use at a push to start us off.
There will be no curtain rails so I will need to organise those.
If there is any decorating to be done, that is not done, they give a voucher for Homebase or B & Q I think, but it stipulates what you can and cannot buy with it. So its only paint or brushes, rollers etc. No wallpaper or fixtures etc. (Been through that with Twin2).
BF's car doesnt have a tow bar. He has a company car, which changes regularly, however my Dad does have.
Molly has a zafira or something like that and she is going to go to the tip for me. So no need to hire a skip!!ha ha.
EEk, my landlord has just arrived out the window to move the wood for his dad in a JCB!!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ask if you can borrow it Mooloo. I can just see you scooping up your sofa and delivering it to your new house
Congratulations. I hope the move goes with the minimum of stress and hassle. The very best of luck with it all. xxx0 -

I have done that so often, and now if i attempt it I would pay dearly for trying!
But I will have to be tougher with DS and make sure he pulls his weight.
Just had a letter from the college about his lack of attendance. When I pick him up tomorrow there is going to be fireworks. (Unless I can control myself), and they wont be sparklers and catherine wheels!!
BF is due any minute, and Biggest has only just left with DGD. So I better get a move on. (No pun intended!).:rotfl:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I am delighted to hear that the house was the one you thought as it sounds like it will be more convenient for you. How exciting a new home and you will be moved in in time for Christmas!0

Yes my legs have been playing me up for quite a while. Hence I had a physio appointment a few months ago, All she did was give me some exercises to keep my back moving. But that may try to strengthen the muscles, but absoloutely no use in managing the pain, or the numbness, which means that I loose my footing on occasion, and makes it b b painful to walk longdistances anymore.
I did ask about nerology, but it didnt happen. Perhaps I will make another apointment. I want to discuss the tablets I am on, and also the fears that things have got quite bad so fast this last year.
On the house side, I am nervous, but not really excited at moving. Having moved so often. Just resigned to the pro's and cons. Its not idea. But its ticking boxes for the children, and thats the most important part. Then its the security that it should offer thats next on my agenda. Followed by the location, nearer to my friend Molly, and on a bus route.
I still worry about the logistics of moving, and the costs. I worry that is it the right thing, and I also worry that if its not the right move, I am stuck there!
Apart from that, I am trying to be practical.
On that note I have to clear up some clothing that has been dumped on DS's bed, then moved to the floor etc etc before i collect him at 5.45. So I have an hour before I have to leave, and then after collecting him, its collect DGD from Biggests new abode (her BF's mums), so Sat Nav needed there too. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well DS's bed has been cleared, and made so he is coming back to one area sorted. Perhaps that will spur him on to sorting the chair beside it next.etc.
Two HUGE courgettes, now looking like and feeling like marrows were lurking at the back of the vegetable patch! oops. So I think we will be having stuffed courgettes for our meal tomorrow, so have got some mince out of the freezer to defrost and some chops for today.
Out of rice and pasta? how did that happen? Oh I know twin1 raided the stores before I went away. Drat.
Make do with the carrots from the garden that are rather missshapen and not so pleasing to the eye. The rest will be made into carrot and potato soup I think!! No good me stocking up the freezer afterall.
Better go or I will be late. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
