A new start for Mooloo

Dear Lord I hope my daughter's instructor doesn't let her know about this, I've been trying every excuse I can to keep her away from my steering wheel
But DS1 is the only one who has driven since passing his test: the year he passed I was off the road, so it was jolly handy!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
My car ins is like the national debt this year anyhow - have 3 points for speeding (a quick getaway from a madman), then someone damaged my car in aldi carpark, ins insisted it was 2 claims not 1! still got complaint going through, then a month later someone walked into my house took my car keys and stole my car ....so after 10 years of no claims I'm down to nil through no fault of mine, seen as a huge risk and paying £650 extra on my ins this year.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

We are in a similar situation with my DD too who is also learning to drive:eek:
I cant go out with her as my nerves get the better of me but her dad is very good:T We paid 900 all in for a year (monthly instalments) for her and me but my insurance is higher now because of my medical stuff:( However its almost essential to drive where I and Mooloo live and anyone who doesnt is at a distinct disadvantage. In fact i have found myself inadvertently part of the campaigne to try and reinstate our direct bus service to Northampton (the same one Mooloo's DS uses) as the council cut it last year. I dont think we will be successful as the council are cutting left, right and center and we now have to pay for bus pass:eek: So many old and young people rely on the buses and they are the most vulnerable as they often cant afford cars, ill, etc. Its terribly unfair! Anyway off my soapbox now:mad: Just to add its a worse situation with the buses where Mooloo lives!
Looking forward to catching up with you soon Mooloo. It feels like an age what with my holiday and hospital appointments this week. Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Oh my god Gizmo, what a year for you. I should remember to count my blessings.
I suppose I could look into it, but still think my automatic is not a best car to drive in.
I am not sure my budget would stretch.
The car scraped through its MOT but the garage, (a very reputable one) has warned me of several jobs that will be necessary in around the next 3 months, and was kind enough to give me a estimate for the work, totalling £300 and so that means we have to save £25 a week to pay that kind of money.
Obviously that means a huge budget shift. (Unless the holiday we saved for goes really sparce budget, and I really dont want to do that!).
Time I was out of hear and getting dressed, as its our turn to go and see the grandsons.
I will try very hard not to lift the baby today. Save my arm as much as possibe.
The builders are in, they are chipping holes in the wall, ready to re point it. (Only been waiting 16months for the landlord to do something about the cracks in it). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Oh my Gizmo what a catalogue of disasters
Molly and mooloo , could you(as in a village comoitee or suchlike) set up a rural bus scheme. Sounds complicated and it can be but you could get help with that and also funding from rural regeneration agencies/lottery etc
Essentially most schemes work like a taxi service around a loose timetable and the minibus is driven by volunteers (who have to be trained and vetted etc )

Have you seen this? http://www.everyinvestor.co.uk/personal-finance/insurance/new-learner-driver-insurance-from-aa“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Not seen it before. But at the moment, that is still a pipedream for me to find out of our income. When and if I manage to get any benefits for DS back in place maybe I will be able too.But alas at present I am not managing the budget well enoug to have saved/spare that kind of money a month/week/day? What ever.
If I can start to get more sewing done, and out there, maybe Iwill start to earn it. (But then thats double edged as I would need to declaire it!)
But thankyou for the link, I will keep it in mind if our stuation changes. xx:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
How did your visit to see the grandsons go today? How are they keeping? Did you get a doctors ap yet?0

The visit to see the boys went all too fast.
I have tried to take some video on my dads little camera but yet to see if it worked. Battery ran out on the main camera again. Must get better batteries!
DGS1 was pleased to see one of his toys that I took along. Perhaps the foster parents wont be so pleased as its a guitar, but they seemed happy enough. We talked for 15 minutes as the SW had not arrived to supervise. They are a nice couple, about my age, maybe. Think he is older.
They have given me several photos taken of the boys. Laminated for me.
Another two weeks before I see them, then it will be a month as my turn is when I am away. Alas.
I havent tried to get hold of the doctor again. I will make an appointment next week. I have been just usuing my energies to keep DGD happy, and the washing done. She wet the bed again last night. So must watch what she is drinking, later in the day.!
Just cooking some sausages in the oven, easier to do with my arm.
The pasta is already cooked from the otherday, so just needs a zap in the microwave, peas are frozen so thats easy enough. Nothing special but easy to do.
Maybe tomorrow morning twin1 will be well enough to spend some time with her daughter, its Stay and Play day. Lets hope.
Looking forward to seeing Molly. As long as we are both fit enough!.
Not sure we could have the energies to fight for bus services completely, as we are both fighting our health for a start!.
I am going to try and get my Positive head back on! The negativity has been creeping in!Not good.
(BF is away at a team building thng with work ths weekend so I wont be able to see him, so thats a bit of a blow! ) I must re think, and look at the fact that it means....
Oh, I can wear my scruffiest nighty, and a cardy in bed! Use my facemask up! (had since xmas), Watch a chick flick on the tv maybe?
Wear my scruffy jeans?
Perhaps even tomorrow evening if the weather is good, take DGD down the road to the local Pub? Only ever been there about 3 times in the 16months I have lived here?
I can read a book, or if my arm improves maybe I could cut something out to sew?
See I am feeling better already! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning already!
Well it seems like I hardly went to sleep, then DGD was awake. The first call was, is it still dark? YEP, it was around 4am!
Weird dreams since.
First cup of tea finished. Battle of the breakfast about to begin. However I am pleased to report that she didnt wet the bed last night! Few. The thought of returning to nappies was a bit depressing.
Arm is still "dragging" me down a bit. So slowly slowly day today.
Molly is coming over at lunchtime.
Spoke to Twin1 last night. She is goingto do the play and stay, its in a different place this week apparantly, the community centre is being redecorated or somethng. (Its supposed to be being turned into a surestart centre some where along the line,). That would be good. If we could get one of those near by. Perhaps we could get visitor places for contact eventually. Save all the travelling..
DGD has started a wobbly over the breakfast cereal already. She is quite challenging at times. Least its only one of them, and not two of them this time around. (twins were challenging too). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
