Great now I am not entitled to free NHS perscriptions! can it get worse!?
Why did I think my luck was changing for the better, this is so stupid!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Why are you not entitled to Tax Credits? I thought as a foster carer you were?0

So did I. they are going to re assess my claim now. After being on the phone for about 30odd minutes. So a higher phonebill due soon too! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Working Tax Credits not Child Tax Credit
Its working Tax Credits that I was claiming. The child tax credits stopped for DS when he left college. However on his first day back at college we can put in a claim for that again! (if he does actually go of course. My faith in him is a bit wobbly at the moment.)
TheNHS perscriptions are means tested apparantly. I have to fill in a form and claim it. I also will be getting another form that I can fill in to see if the type of ESA I am on can be changed. Then I would have bee able to get all sorts of other benefits, (the ones I was turned down for when DGD came to stay late last year/early this year. ) Which would have been a huge help!.
Looks like the whole lot of benefit shake ups are going on and I am one of the many who are loosing out at the moment.!!
Worried that when I have to get my medications in about a weeks time, I will have to pay the full wack, with 5dfferent medications tht I receive monthly thats going to blow the budget sky high out of the water. Along with the amended Utilities bill!
Keep Calm and Carry ON!!!! Not happy today, and had thought the day was going to get better.
Actually my neck etc are not brilliant either, so I best keep myself at a slow pace and spare my spoons. Emotional stress makes me worse, so it is to be avoided as much as I can. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Did you renew your claim in time? I think people who didn't renew by 31 July are having their claims ended now & being told they have been overpaid. If this is the case keep trying to get through they might be able to fix it.
HI, yes she said I hadnt renewed, but I said that I had, and also had had a letter on Friday with the figures that I had given them quoted so that was a load of nonsense!.
Anyway they will look into it. So its the waiting game and meanwhile on a week when I overspent, I am now getting less coming in. Typical.
I am trying not to panic, as I know that that will not help me.
Better go and check the bank balance and see if I have enough to cover the S/O and DD's. It will be touch and go, and I have a big MR A order due to be delivered tomorrow.I would hate to have to have that cancelled, as the freezer etc is pretty bare these days!.
Although its not life threatening. So there are people worse off then me!. Must remember that one.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Here is a link to the direct.gov website http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Illorinjured/DG_10018978
which gives information on applying for an exemption from paying (HC2)
The form you need to complete is a HC1 which can be obtained from Jobcentres or by telephone from the Health Cost advice line on 0845 850 1166.
If you end up having to pay for your prescriptions you can get a refund once the exemption comes through although I appreciate it will leave you short.
If you do not qualify for the exemption then you can get a pre payment certificate for 12 months which can be paid by DD over 10 months, it is about £10.40 per month. Sould be some info on the website above

Hi, I found myself in the same situation re prescriptions, needing seven each four weeks, so I got a prepayment certificate which I pay for monthly(just over 10 quid a month), you can apply online, don't know how to post links but you should be able to google it, Hope this helps, Grandmafraggle0

Thanks both.
The form is on its way for me to apply. Fingers crossed it comes quickly enough.
If I am no longer eligeable then It would definitely make sense for me to get a monthly prepay thing. Thanks so much. :TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
