I also use the "what are you going to do about it" thing.....doesn't tend to work with eldest though, he just replies "Get you to bring it to me" or some such reply.

He has a sense of humour and a quick wit......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh I have one of them as well,he uses his wit/charm into making me do things for him when I have previously said no.
He makes me laugh, starts waltzing me around the kitchen when he feels a lecture coming his way etc then I feel bad about saying no lol.

This is wearing a bit thin now though he is 26 and I honestly cant wait for him to move out and see for himself just how bl***y easy a life he has.

I stopped washing his clothes for 2 weeks recently and said when he cleans his pigsty I will start washing again.

Came home from town and his dad had done them all cos he was sick of seeing the washing basket overflowing grrr.

In that case I can only suggest that you INSIST on all his junk going with him. DS made a few trips back to mop up (most of) the rest of his stuff, and he cleaned his room as well.

May we be so blessed with the youngest, who spreads EVERYWHERE!

I'm so glad I have been reading the thread...I've now brought in SEP for my eldest son!

He has just gone out and rang to say he had forgotten his keys and headphones...he expected me to run them around to him (he was not bothered about his keys, I can just hide them in the normal place)...and I said NO!

Felt good and bad to be honest, guilt that he was not happy but good that I have said no to running around after him on what is a rare morning free for me (well after I took the cats to the vet anyway).

Oh well done. Its ever so difficult to do, and I havent mastered it at all. But each No is one more than before! if you get what i mean.

    Right Morning all,
I am at my parents house, to borrow the computer, and to wait between dropping DS and taking DGD to nursery. DS is working well and even said he would ask if there were any permanant jobs going. (Wasnt sure after a week of manual labour if he would have tired of it!). I should give him more credit obviously. He has asked me what i am doing on Saturday, as he wants to go and buy some new clothes. He has hardly anything after leaving it all in Oxford.

I am not sure whats happening at the weekend, but at least he has given me warning. I may take him in, or i may take him to the bus stop, but I think he wants my help with clothes as he is useless.

My laptop has died, well the powerpack has failed on me, so I am not sure how/when i will be back on line. I suppose every time I call into my mums, or am in the area I can call in and do an update.
Twin2 and her BF signed back on again yesterday. Then they were both given back to work interview dates. Hers was this Wednesday, his in two weeks on sign on day. so I insisted she sort out a different date and tell them that she cannot get back in as they have not been paid, and the busfare is already a 5th of their money, so its impossible to come in twice in one week. She managed to change it to the same day as her BF, next sign on day! so thats a result.
The SW has said that she cannot give money for travel up front, but she has now arranged for twin2 to collect £25 on a Tuesday for the weeks busfare, and that she will leave me £30 for my petrol up until now, and that on the Thursday that I take twin2 she must give me £10 for my petrol.
    RESULT.
thanks Gizmo for giving me the information tht allowed me to send that ranting Email to the SW.

Next arguement will be the costs for twin1 to see DGD. May not be lucky in getting anything back dated, but if its funded in future that will help
Still awaiting news as to whether or not someone will fund DGD's nursery. Fingers crossed.

Better go, DGD can be in Nursery now.

I stop washing for my kids when they are 12. I was at boarding school at that age and we were expected to wash all our clothing at that age.
I show them how it works and watch them do it first time then they are on their own.

Well I am back at my Mums again. The local PC store said it would cost me £70 plus for a new powercable for my laptop. Said the wire had been bent/damaged and didnt think that it would come in under waranty. Idont have that kind of spare cash at the moment. As my car Insurance is also due in afew weeks and must take priority. I shall just have to get some sewing done and hope that i can sell some.
The market people got back to me, and I can see if my bits and bobs will sell on the parish stall, for 25p plus 10% of sales. So we will have a go this weekend.
change of social worker - again!

Thats it folks you read that correctly.
We met a new Social Worker on Monday, last week, and she was going to be our permanant worker. Today I got a phone call from a Man telling me that he is now my new social worker for DGD and is coming to see me on Friday morning. So it was actually at that time DGD is with mum at contact so no you cannot come then. So he is coming afterwards. Mmmm this is the 4th one in all, and he 3rd in the last 6 weeks! not counting the time while we didnt have a worker. Its getting bloody rediculous. Its so farceacle!
    I am so fed up.
Biggest of Mooloo cant find anywhere to rent and is worried about becoming homeless herself in September. Her BF is on reduced wages, paycuts and she is on commission based wages, which i hadnt realised. Things not looking too good. Then this morning her car wipers died, and the quote is over £300! It never rains but it pours in this family.!
Oh well at least I won the battle over funding for twin2 so I better try looking on that bright side of life!.

SWs - Unbelievable! Can you get a computer cable cheaper online? Can your daughter get a price for the wipers from someone else or perhaps she could try to get one second hand? Can I ask what make of a car she drives?
