I'm going to but in with my two pennorth here, I totally agree that you need to back off from helping the twins, but I think as DS isn't yet 18 he still needs help & that if you are willing you should help him. Especially since you live somewhere with no transport links, I lived in the middle of nowhere for years & was always willing to give my kids lifts to the nearest bus/train if it was for work.

Hester I think this is where i am trying to come from. Molly will tell you that the roads around here, are really mere lanes, and very windy, full of pot holes and I think that I would prefer to take DS to work, then expect him to cycle on those roads.
I did help the twins yesterday evening to go to Silverstone as they are helping out with the car park marshalling, so they are camping there. Twin2's BF is also with them. They have a couple of tents from MrT, currently at £7.50 I think it was. Using my gas stove and a few camping bits mustered up. I hope that they are going to cope with the instructions etc, and enjoy the excitement of Silverstone.
I would have let them go by taxi, but it was £15 for the 4 miles, so I took them and twin1 gave me £5 for petrol, which was fine by me.
Re twin2's expenses, I will put in the mileage at 26p and see if they accept it. The bus tickets, I suppose when I said WE need to find them I did mean SHE needs to find them, I just need to add it up, give the ticket numbers and prices over the internet, so that she gets the refund on Tuesday.
I shall talk to the SW and remind her that I too am on low income and its difficult for me to lend the money to the family, as I dont tend to be first in line to get it back!
I have nearly finished the Bunting flags for todays party.
(Well I thought I had finished it, till I went to take a photo and realised that the first two flags were in the wrong order, which meant I had a yellow, then two greens, yellow, green etc. At least I got the spelling of the name in the right order. I shall finish it in a few minutes, as its unpicked and re-pinned in the right order now!.
The butcher van has just been around, so I got some fruit, veg and ham from him. To save me going out before lunch.
Right I need to get on. Been cleaning the kitchen, and tidying up, before its becomes a hazard. toys seem to have expanded to fit all rooms!!:cool:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I live in a similar environment Mooloo and no way would I want a teenager cycling 10miles on the roads around here, it's just not safe. Everyone assumes country roads are safe, but they're actually more hazardous than cycling on a main trunk route!
I would certainly help DS, especially if he's showing signs of wanting to work or return to college. I think he needs the encouragement and would perhaps appreciate it more now you're not running around after the twins.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Trying to put a picture of the presents I have made, for todays little party, but I am having trouble? Not sure why>

Well Molly managed to brave the single track and came to see me. We had a good chat. Its always lovely to see her. Even if we are just off loading our various frustrations on each other.
DGD has had a sleep, and is now ready to go to her first birthday part. Bunting and bag finished, and a Handmade by Mooloo label on the bunting, just incase it makes any interest!.
DGD was playing outside in the paddling pool for a little while. So I got to sit in the shade under the tree and watch her and the world go bye. The road is quite busy with farm vehicles and the odd stranger trying to escape going to Silverstone!
Its a scorcher today. The current temperature is 27C here at the moment. Hope the girls have enough water out on the carparks!
DS will be waiting for me at his sisters. Hopefully he will have been paid for the work he has done this week, and can clear off some of his IOU's ! Including some in my direction!.
Right I better get DGD into the car, and ready for her party. Fingers crossed she enjoys it, and remembers to ask for the loo, as she hasnt got a nappy on. She even slept this afternoon without a nappy, and was dry. She is doing so well with the potty training.
Have a good weekend everyone.
BF is hoping to come up tomorrow, (diverted route to avoid the track of course). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
