Just had a reply from the SW that deals with Twin2's situation. she said that she was not aware that TWin2 had not been getting her money, or that she had been asking for it! So we have to find the bus tickets going back to the begining of last month, and get the claim for them back in. Except of course twin2 doesnt have all of her tickets so we will have to claim for them, with a letter explaining. she will also refund my petrol for the days that I take Twin2 (once a fortnight) so thats a help at least. Now i have to work it out and send her an email with the amounts etc, and leave the receipts on there for her on the Tuesday. Oh and "could you lend her the money to get there next Tuesday!" So even when I want to back off, I am hauled into the equation all over again.
DGD is fast asleep, and I am hoping to start to sew the bunting that i cut out this morning. So I am off to the sewing machine, fingers crossed that she is asleep enough not to hear the machines whirling away. (She wakes sometimes the minute I start!).
Bills for Petrol, reimbursing etc, Food etc etc will be going into the whole lot of my offspring! Remembering that its 13.3p a mile to run my car, never mind the insurance, wear and tear etc etc etc.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo, as a council employee I can claim 40p a mile - as will the SW's, so your claim should be more than 13.3p a mile.
Also, has DS agreed to progress getting the return of his moped & documents? And could he borrow a pushbike from somewhere?0 -

Honestly, it really is that simple ... well, I know it's not, but of couse you get hauled back in, because you swallow the hook.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I wll investigate the amount that am allowed to claim,(perhaps I will speak to the other SW who is on myside for claiming from the fosterng team, she may be more honest witme).
I have brought DS's bike back with me. Currenty in pieces, The push bike, but I do not think he would manage the 10miles on roads with no paths, lighting and are so winding! He would need to leave aroun 5am! But if he has to do anything else we will have to see about the distances somehow.
Re getting his other things back, No he hasnt done anything as far as I know.
Thats wat SEP that am not dealing with.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Wow, it really does sound like they are trying to draw you back into it all. Why hasn't DS called the police to get his moped etc back? Surely if they are keeping his property, that would equate to theft?! As for the SS, it is their problem to sort out transport and transport costs, not yours. Don't let them bring you into it. Just say 'no!'0

I am old and fat and I can do 10 miles on a push bike if I have to. He would soon get used to it. I know it's harsh, but at 17 you're pretty much indestructable.
As Savvy sue said, bus tickets: not up to you, lending money: nope, reclaiming petrol - oh yes indeedy.
Also, why shouldn't twin1 pay you? You're as much a priority debt as many others I am sure. I'd suggest staking your claim so she doesn't just presume she can ignore what she owes you.
Is twin2 still in supported living? If she is then they should be helping with this, it is totally within their remit and if not then BF can wade in.
Hope your sewing got done

40p a mile is for employees and is an agreement with HMRC and assumes you have business class insurance for employment.I wll investigate the amount that am allowed to claim,(perhaps I will speak to the other SW who is on myside for claiming from the fosterng team, she may be more honest witme).

You should be either to claim 26p per mile or actual petrol - see what works out better for you.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

NHS pays 40p a mile for casual users who are not employees......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Interesting - we pay 26p or petrol for parents getting to contact, I guess other local authorities may have different allowances.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
