Errata, that's a fab leaflet. It goes to show that we were all right on here. It also shows that the social worker hasn't done his/her job as mooloo has made no mention of being assessed after 6 weeks of having DGD in her care.0

Bingo ! DGD has been with Mooloo since 25 November - 8 weeks ago today

Methinks that these particular SW's need to read their own case notes....and find out what has been said in previous conversations0

Mooloo - in addition to talking to your MP, I think it is time to talk to one of the National newspapers ....0

This is the important bit when the local authority has arranged Kinship Care, as is the case with Moolo
All kinship carers who look after a child for longer than six weeks have to be assessed by the fostering service andapproved by the kinship panel within six weeks of the child going to live with the kinship carer......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I knew if we all worked together we would find the achilies heal of the social workers... they really do have a problem now that we know that they haven't followed their own protocol! It's only down to teamwork that we have found this out. Well done errata.0

Errata, is that a guidance document, or does it include legislation? And could Mooloo's SW team attempt to say "oh but that doesn't apply to you" to her?0

It's from the Childrens Legal Centre website and seems to be gov procedure rather than pik'n'mix guidance.
I'm no legal expert, but the Centre is and a phone call to them could be well worthwhile......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks to everyone. I have been reading and rereading these things. Its basically what we had come to believe, and that man has denied.
I had a very busy day yesterday and couldnt get on to the computer in the evening as I went to bed by about 6.30 with exhaustion!.
Slow this morning, as have been having a few health problems today. Slowly, is the way forward.
DS has agreed to Stay at home, and help me, during the week, and go to |Oxford on the weekends, possibly for a long weekend. Etc. So that he can sign on here, helping me keep this place, help me with DGD when he is around, and go to Oxford and look for work on the Friday/Mondays, down there.
Lets hope that he sticks to that.
We are getting ready now to go into Northampton, get him signed on, and visit DGD's Mum. Then this afternoon, we will go to Oxford. DGD and I to see my BF, and he will go and see his friend.
(I will not argue about the money etc at the moment, but he has agreed that he will have to pull his weight to help with the chores, in exchange for his meals.
(As I already have the majority of the food here in the freezers, (which really are quite full now, as i bought some Whoopsie meat at Mr T, yesterday).
If he is here during the day, in the middle of the week, then I will be able to go to my hobby crafts on the Tuesday afternoons, and possibly be able to do some sewing like I did before. That will help me to make some money on the side, (I hope), and ease the costs.
Until the Social Services get their act together.
I did hold off sending for a Community Care Grant, as I thought that Social Would have been sorted by now. But I sent the form off yesterday. Now the waiting game will be with that department of the government as well.
Worst they can do is say no.
I have had a letter, (finally) from the new Social Worker, outlining the basics of our meeting last Thursday.
Then today I have had another letter saying that they will Take Twin1 to the assessment centre on both days, but that she will have to make her own way back, by Taxi, bus, and walking the last mile home. (Which will be interesting)
That on the Second Day, I am expected to take DGD to Northampton by 8.30am so that she can take her to the assessment part that she is involved in. Then the Social Worker will bring her back to Towcester. (Does she mean I have to go to Towcester to collect her, or will she actually come out to the Village 8 miles out of Towceter?)
Right time to get on. things are running very slowly today.
Once again, thanks to everyone for helping me. I thought I was slowly going Mad.
Now with the downloads I can compile those various letters.
It has been 8 weeks, and by the minimum, end, if mum is successful, it is another 4weeks in total. If Mum is not successful, god alone knows how long things are going to take. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
PS, no I havent been assessed. They have only been to my house twice, once to drop her off, and once the next day, to give me the agreement. That was the first agreement when mum was ill, and returned DGD to her a few days later. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
