Mooloo, it's called "Kinship Care" and you should get the same as any other foster family - the only difference is that the child stays within their own family.0

It's lovely to hear that DGD has been able to learn, I hadn't realised what she was capable of.
I looked for some info on Kinship Care last night, and my understanding is that the weekly rate is the same as that for foster children who aren't related. In addition to that, there appears to be extra funding for things like beds, school uniforms, treats, holidays, birthday and Christmas which seems really helpful.
HTH.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I get the feeling that the SW team are the only ones who aren't aware of this - or are trying to protect their finances :rolleyes:0 -
It seems like your gd is doing fine. I hope it all gets sorted out soon for everyones sake.0

Hello, I am awake, just. The grandchildren went down to sleep immediately last night. Which was really good. Noticed that Granddaughter was having nightmares though. Not so good. She was also arguing with her cousin, in her dreams and shouting at him. But was asleep when I went in to check. Her mother didnt hear as she slept downstairs in the arm chair. (Didnt want to share the room with two toddlers!).
I was up with them at 7.30 which was not too bad.
We went along to my coffee shop visit, but didnt stay long, as they were going into different directions, and mum/auntie was not very quick to respond to things. We had arranged to take grandson back at lunchtime, and when we got back the midwife was there. All doing fine. Twin2's BF was doting on baby. he was also good with DGS and told him that he had missed him etc. (He is not the father).
Twin1 went back home, well I took her, as she had been here since sunday.
My son has arrived back home, but is still intent on going to Oxford.
The housing information given originally is correct. I am not in the Cherwell Valley side, on the edge of it. So the housingbenefit will be lower then my rent.
social services here are just trying to fob me off all the time. they dont have funding left for this year. However after all this week calms down, and now that I have the new laptop, the letter writing will be sent along with the effidence, of information that everyone here has helped with.
I know I am entitled to it, its just prooving it.
Biggest of Mooloo has said that there is something on one of the sites saying that I should be paid as I have had DGD for more then 6 weeks now.
so I need to get a new cartridge for the printer, and then get my information all gathered together and write it all down and get my self a solicitor, via welfare rights etc.
I have just got to get the energy to argue with them.
This new social worker is not going to know what has hit her when I get all this information gathered together in a proper semblance of order, and that I argue my corner properly. Legally! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Have you ever spoken to these people http://www.frg.org.uk/ it's a freephone service. They may be able to give you the information you need..................

Mooloo, if you find yourself at your GP any time soon, do ask if they will write a letter saying that your health is being put under additional strain by caring for a toddler on insufficient income.
Also ask them what they will do, given that they have no more budget this year, when you crack under the strain?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I am trying to compile my letter to Social (again), but find myself feeling as if I am begging for money, and feel guilty that that is an issue in looking after my granddaughter. Trying to give information/links to the various information that I have read.
I agree that it all says that I am entitled to funding. Its just making Social Services stand up and listen to me.
Back to the drawing board. Edit time.
DGD is watching Big cook, little cook. Keeping her quite for a few minutes. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hello, I have tried to speak to them, but have to leave a message as all the lines are busy. Waiting for a reply (again).!
Going to see if i can get my letter sorted out, and then we will see if I can get my points across, and get back up to help me.
Welfare Rights have a long waiting list to be able to see someone.
EDIT. I have also sent them an email asking for help/informationWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
