Stayed up late last night. Wrote my letter to the council with the aid of the template letter from Family Rights Group. Emailed it to them to check, alter etc as necessary. Awaiting the reply.
Emailed my Member of parliament. had an acknowledgement and it says he will reply within 10 days. If not email him back.
so its the usual waiting game.
Time to collect DD, twin1 today. But I have decided to go to the coffee shop with DGD first then go and get the mum. As I want to see the people I know. Dont know anyone else really.
DGD has the cough and cold this morning. Given her some childrens Paracetamol. Must get the log fire started again. It isnt being friendly today.!

Like the bandana bibs. I shall have to see if I can make them. Will need to get some towelling or the right type of microfibre that is absorbent. That seems to be the difficult thing to google!
DGD has just stripped off. Better go and get her dressed. Again!

  • I know this might sound a bit off the wall, and please feel free to ignore me!

I was wondering if it was worth you thinking about whether, if DS goes, you could move in with your parents for a bit. I know this might seem like the same kind of step back as living in a shared home, but I think there could be some advantages if it were possible.

I was thinking that if you were able to do that for a fixed period, say a year, it would mean that
    a) you defo couldnt have dgd and soc servs would have to step up and sort it.

    b) you couldnt do everyones washing

    c) it would be cheap

    d) you'd get more support

    e) you could have a good go at the outstanding bills

    f) by not baby sitting, you;d have time to sew and make a little extra.

    g) it could support your claim that you need support with your disabilities for DLA

likeI said feel free to ignore, I dont even know if it;s possible but thought it worth mentioning. Sometimes off the wall thinking is required :-)

Queen of strings, funnily enough my eldest daughter said to me on the phone last night, that "there is always your bedroom at grannies". But I am not sure I would want to ask them. I know that my BF would definitely feel awkward stopping over, as there would be no privacy there. But I suppose that it is an option I should be considering. I would not be able to have any of my furniture etc. or any of my personal belongings. (Except a few clothes). I have lived there for a month in 2004 when I split with my husband, but we were living out of suitcases and they were away at the time.
I agree your theory is a good point if I am prepared to loose everything personal. (Or of course find storage).
Perhaps I ought to have a chat with them about the problems I am having. Not sure they would be too happy though.
I already fear I am about to loose everything. I think if i had to do this it really would be a step too far.

  • Mooloo - I'd seek advice about the ESA. While the 15p out of every pound is right, I can earn up to £60 before my housing benefit is affected. I don't know what the limit is, I'll try and dig out my letter to find out, but it might be worth finding out.

If you can't earn anymore, write to the discretionary housing payment explaining the short fall and that you are unable to try and make it up yourself. They may be able to pay it for you, or to adjust the limits.

Please try and stay positive. It sounds like your DGD is thriving with you, and boyfriend is trying his best. Keep fighting for DLA (I'm going to tribunal at the moment too, I know it's a nightmare) but that will be useful extra income. And make social services give you what you deserve. I know how sneaky they can be, we had so much trouble with my sister that they messed us around for six years until we told them what we were entitled too.

Be strong, you are an amazing person and an inspiration :)

Things didnt go to plan yesterday. But I did manage to take some time out for myself. I left DGD with DS, and went to the Coffee Shop, at the village hall. They were all surprised to see me without DGD. Plenty of people there who are taking the time to talk to me which is good. One couple who are regulars there gave me an annual, of Winnie the Pooh for DGD. They are in their late 70's and early 80's)
    I am always welcomed there.
Then I went to Northampton and picked up Twin1. DGD has a cough and a cold, so she was a bit clingy in the car. I dropped her and mum back at the cottage and went into the local town for an hour. The key to my central locking stopped working and I couldnt open my fuel flap. Had to park up and read the manual about how to get it open. Took the key to the local Shoe mender/watch repairer/key person. He kindly looked at it for me, cleaned up the battery, and said that it was still fine, it was the buttons, and managed to get it working again for me. No charge. Which is lucky as he said that the car keys can be anything from about £40 to £100 if he is right, then i am lucky it worked again.
I did the evening meal for everyone then I went for a lie down for an hour in the early evening.
AS I didnt have to do DGD's routine, I left that all down to mum, it was an evening off. I brought the laptop upstairs and caught up on the Iplayer!. So it was late when I went to sleep. But this morning, twin1 is looking after DGD, so I checked on them, then came back up to my room to mooch about on here for a while.
Yesterday twin2 rang asking me if I wanted to go over, also that she needs to register the baby. I said that I was not able to yesterday, but that I would try to go and see her today, or tomorrow. That they have to give me at least 24 hours notice if they want me to do something. But I will not be able to take them all in the car while I have DGD, so we have got to work it out when DS and Twin1 can take care of DGD. i.e. Wednesday' or Thursday mornings.
DS is planning to go to oxford on his Moped on Thursday.
Apparantly he is too young to sign on for Job Seekers, so is waiting for an advisor to ring him back. I told him to chase it.

I want to see the new baby, so I will go over later today. Dont know if we will be off to register him today, or tomorrow though. Will find out later.

May make him some of those Bandana bibs! if I can make time to get to the sewing machine.
Just remembered that my doctors note for ESA will have run out by now as its about 3 months since i came back off of holiday, and had the last one. think I better make an appointment to see him asap.! All of this was on my old computer of course!.

Hope your day went according to your plan Mooloo - did you get to see the baby?

BTW, maybe microfibre isn't best for the bandana bibs - I don't think it is TD'able, which may be what the buyers will want?
