Lol, its prob long done and dusted as too many pages to read through fully (i got to 5 and had to post).
Tell her she's welcome to moving in with her nan, but then ask her (keeping a serious face if you can) what she'd do if she caught nan at it ey, because she does it too? Now even though you and her would know its hardly likely but that'd surely gross her out even more and she'd decide catching you two is not as 'scarring' as that image, lol!
Then your daughter would most deffinately not mention it to her nan out of sheer embarrassment - and in 8-10 years she'll look back at this and laugh! x
I must say though, as soon as i saw the mention of 'toys' i went ahhh, thats precisely it. At 13/14 we all knew our parents were 'at it' but one friend told me she had accidently found a vibrator in her mums draw - we were truly mortified!!! 'Toys' dont really become part of the equation (or acceptable in your social circle if that makes sense, no pun intended so please don't start, lol) until most people have been with someone long enough to pass the embarrassment of suggesting it, usually by then they'd be 19 or 20 at least in a fairly steady relationship, and after that its all pretty norm whether its new partners or long standing ones.
Lol -sorry i have to laugh at this whole thread though! Its great!!!

I still cringe when I remember a time 30 years ago when me and hubby were young and randy we were having sex in the kitchen when toddler daughter walked in on us thinking her to young to remember how wrong we were at dinner the next evening when mother in law was over she said in a very matter of fact voice 'daddy when are you going to give mummy your willy again'.0

I hate it when people say this.... but it's late so I'm gonna....
I haven't read all the thread.... but
When my son was about 12 the conversation of sex came up (an't for the life of me remember how or why) and when it was suggested by somebody that people more *cough* 'mature' still participated, my darling little imaculate conception looked genuinly shocked and said
"What!!!!! they may break a hip!!!". When I asked him at what age one should stop he settled on a
"oooooooooooo about 30?"
I have a signed statement off him, which I intend to read out on his wedding day, that he will not have sex over the age of 29.0 -
I spent a few years in care as a result of a non exsistent bond with my folks, there is no way on this planet i am going to have a similar childhood for my children, so yes i do want a happy childhood with minimal drama for my children.
Good on ya girl! Me too, its made me realise so much how not to be too over strict and too little love or care.....now i'm firm when needed, not strict and full of love and cuddles for my little girl.
Only thing is i think i have many a years before i live out your scenario, my DD is only 3 - i think if she ever strolled in on us thank god we still have another 6-7yrs of porkie pie excuses to tell her and she'll believe them, lol!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
Im my younger days it was mars bar parties........I only ever went to 1 and was mortified when i realised what actually went on.

Sorry i'm still half way through the whole thread and keep getting the urge to post a reply, only stumbled on it tonight, lol, its the best thing i've read in ages!!!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
This is absolutely the best thread ever....I've just spent about an hour reading it from start to finish!
OP, I hope your daughter has wised up abit by now, yes she may have been embarrassed but surely it would have been easier for her to pretend it hadn't happen rather than make huge fuss about it!?
Anyway, I remember walking in on my parents once but thankfully it was dark, it was a shadowy 'hump' under the covers and my mother quickly shouted out for me to go back to my room!
The REAL disturbing moment for me was when I was about 16, had been out on the Sat night, woke early needing a drink and stumbled downstairs, opened fridge door to find a HALF USED pot of chocolate body paint, complete with brush!!
Not only did I have to contend with the thought of them using the body paint but also the fact they had put the USED brush in the fridge!! I couldn't eat anything out of there for a long time after that!!:o:o
TBH I still don't want to have to think about my parents having sex...does anybody at any age want to really think about it?? Doesn't mean they aren't doing it though!0 -

Be glad it was your toddler, when we were first married thirty odd years ago we had my mother followed by my father walk in on us having sex (partially clad) over the kitchen table. They just walked past us said "um hello" and went and sat in the living room".We wanted to die but they just acted as if nothing had ever happened.
They had been out shopping and had dropped in for a cuppa and we had'nt even thought about locking the door in the heat of it all.
Still makes me feel sick thinking about it.
My husband was so traumatised he still checks the outside doors are locked even now.0 -
