Well today I feel I need to confess my naughty spending weekend sins.

    This weekend I spend

£157 on car service and MOT
£18 on things from the craft shop (naughty naughty)
£4 on rubbish from DIY shop
    £40 on night out

So I feel pretty bad about wasting money on things I dont really need.

Will try hard to do better.

My bad news arrived with the post this morning. I had budgeted for the CCpayment which is due next week and the council tax due today.........still mumbling about that as it has gone up by over £10 a month

Was able not to do a shop last week except for milk and bread but had to do a shop this week which ended up at more than i had hoped but i thought that it really was two weeks shop in one so i wasn't to upset.

Was just starting to feel like things could start settling down and that we could pay of the overdraft when BAM the post arrived.

Both the electric bill and the phone bill sat there waiting for me. Now i have a decision to make.

I really do not have the money to pay for these unless......................
    1. I use the money that was intended for the overdraft.
    2. I put them on the CC
    3. I put off paying them until the next letter and try and get some extra money together some how.

None of the above options are making me happy. the first two will mean i will have not really reduced any debt this month even though we have been making some real cut backs.

The last i am not happy with because we are trying to improve our credit rating and this will be helping to do the opposite.

Not a great start to a new week.

Hmm, the bitter-sweet sound of the letterbox. Why not pay half on each bill? It will keep them quiet for a bit and if they phone up I'm sure your GOGW payment will be more than fine to keep them off your back for a bit?

    That could be a possibility.

The phone bill is not too bad under £60 for the quater so i am really pleased. If it was just that one we had got i would not be feeling to bad, a few extra shifts would have it paid for. Its the electric that is really the problem. Def going to be looking around this week to see if i can get a cheaper supplier.

Do it through a cashback site so you can put money back in to the bill!

good point Amosworks, quidco, gives you £8 for using Uswitch!

If you are using uswitch for a number of different changes, make sure you do them all seperately to get you £8 for each one ;)

  • My bad news is that I'm still not on top of the freelance lifestyle....

One of my jobs I get paid every term and a friend occasionally fills in for me. This term I invoiced mid-term and he worked for me at the end of term.......now he needs to get paid and the actual money I received for this job (so early in the term) is gone. Which wouldn't be so bad IF I had been paid for a whole lot of work I did mid-Feb (have phoned this company, they haven't been paid by another company etc etc will try to pay me asap etc).
I feel so bad that I'm doing to my friend exactly what someone else is doing to me and also that I haven't got as good a grip on my finances as I thought!

Also, this is not so bad but I can't-for-love-nor-money apparently find anyone to recommend for the A&L 50quid premier direct account thing. I guess it's really hard to find people who want to change their current account

Ahh suckage. I too have cash flow issues, it's not easy :( Honesty is the best policy. It can be hard chasing down money from clients for fear of losing repeat business but you've got to be strict. They respect you more if you are and you only have to set the tone once and then it's sorted.

Try the referrers board for the A&L switch :) Good luck! I'm sure your friend doesn't hate you BTW :)
