The Bad News Thread

My bad news is very trivial. I opened my kitchen cupboard door to take out a chopping board and my gravy boat fell out and smashed. It was quite expensive when i bought it a few years ago but used it all the time not just for gravy but sauces as well. I suppose i'll have to go back to using the measuring jug or take an ill advised trip to ikea. Serves me right for piling things up in the cupboard. Also no ones chatting much tonight. Hubby out for the count on sofa, daughter out with stalker boyfriend. That really is bad news! The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

lol stalker boyfriend? Eeeeh.
Sorry about your gravy boatI hate it when nice things break. I've broken all sorts of things (I'm clumsy lol) and it's really annoying. Next time you go to Ikea then maybe get on then but I wouldn't make a trip just for a gravy boat lol.
Cheers up0 -
Its just an excuse. Love looking round Ikea. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Personally I hate it lol, but whatever floats your boat
I'm becoming more and more a fan of old furniture that's stood the test of time - not this flat-pack nonsense that falls apart after a few months  Buy cheap, buy twice

i know. weve got a unit like that but there once was a time when ikea started out when it was really good quality. My kids wardrobes date back to then and are really solid and well made. I still think theyve got some good design ideas and i love all their little knicknacks but like you i wouldnt buy a large piece of furniture from them. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Since I started on the money-saving I've not been on the bi-annual trip to Ikea (am much more honest about what I REALLY need and realise I can make do with what I've got). But my god those knickknacks are a danger area - my usual total at the end was £30/50 on what I wanted + £100 or so of cute knickknacks!0

TES, Take it from me, Ikea dont have sauce boats. I looked for one last time I was there. So save yourself the petrol and dont bother! I got mine of ebay for £4 including postage, and very lovely it is too. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Sorry, have only just seen this. You could try contacting B & Q to see if they have any videotapes of their car park - large stores sometimes do, I understand. It would be GREAT if they had the scumbag on tape!!!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
