i do agree o2 couldve given more notice. in fact wasnt it an o2 member of staff yesterday that told the forum about it.
o2 werent planning on pro-actively telling any customers about it, it seems.
i can see it upsetting a fair amount of customers.
o2 are required by UK Contract Law & o2 T&C to give 30 days notice which o2 say will come via text in o2's T&C NOT 2 days befor the changes via a employee on a internet forum ( HiEveryone we are all more than thankful )
o2 indeed were not telling customers, its not about upsetting them customers its the loss of millions of pounds in cancellations.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

But anyway, no your bolt on's will be safe as they are an integral part of your contract that you are NOT paying for i.e. a retention deal.
To clarify, anyone who currently pays for a chargeable bolt on WILL be able to keep it for the length of their contract.
Correct, you just not add/change to the discontinued bolt ons you agreed to you could at anytime during your contract term with ie...30 days notice of change/addition of these now "discontinued" "chargeable" bolt-on's.
Removal of £7.50 " chargeable" bolt ons could easily become £100's in overcharges :eek:SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Diamonds, I haven't been in work so the 30 day notice may be as of the date I gave. However, as the T's and C's state, they can be removed at any time.

what a shame, I always thought o2 hit the mark with their bolt on scheme! much more flexibility,
I want to change my unlimited o2-o2 bolt on buuuuttt.... I'm on a £35 plan (discounted by £5pm) so I;m meant to get one bolt on, I originally took the unlimited o2-o2, when I got a blackberry (not through upgrade just got one) I asked to change the bolt on to the blackberry plan, when my latest bill came through I noticed for the same price I've got the blackberry plan AND the unlimited o2-o2
If I ring to change my unlimited o2-o2 don't want them to notice that I'm not entitled to the extra bolt on and cancel it...
Reehsetin best keep quiet, as o2-o2 are removed are no longer available - never mind FREE lol
I hope you never have to call o2 until your contract is up, any staff member would have to cancel one of them...as per T&C of staff contracts you account is not under proper o2 protocol....you could even end up back charged:eek:
So NEVER call o2SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

Yes but removal of Bolt On's is a "disadvantage" BOTH in o2's tariff & Airtime agreements T&C ( even in Bolt on T&C section inside the Tariff T&C ) state customers WILL be notified 30 days before "disadvantage" change, the changes on o2's computer system were LIVE tonight. NO 30 day notice is applicable anymore, that should have been done 30 days ago.
o2 breached customers contracts with accounts with this tariff/bolt structure via system/billing TONIGHT & not informing such "disadvantaged" changes 30 days ago so customers could make an informed decision to accept or leave - millions could walk IF THEY KNEW.... no wonder o2 silent & sly let these changes to CURRENT customers slide in - millions would leave, o2 knew millions could leave & that tells you o2 is losing money on the current ( now past ? ) BOLT ON structure o2 have to get rid of.
These new changes should be for NEW customers only - except they aren't
Silly o2, a manager confirmed everything you said to be accurate. Thankyou HiEveryone for informing us @ MSE where your employer had a legal obligation to do so & failed.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... in respect of the vodafone one diamond, looked at their terms you cant cancel until the 1st 30 days have passed in your contract, meaning you have to have it min of 2 months, costing £40 so cancels out all the quidco cashback. All you get is the free phone but it looks like a very basic oneWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Any contract by UK law can give 30 days notice, regardless of its start date.
Have you MSE'ers not learnt anything over this past fortnight with T&CLOL
Just because your mobile network has it in its T&C does not mean UK contract law does not protect you.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Ok Im confused! Can the OP clarify something, as he works for O2?
I took up a new contract today from the win back team who offered me unlimited 02 calls and mobile web for 18 months. Will these be cancelled off my contract or will I get these for 18 months as they were taken out before they dropped the free web bolt on?
It won't affect you at all.
What they've offered is what they've offered, and you've said that's what you want; the contract is made.
Nothing is going to be cancelled from your contract.
And they haven't dropped the free web bolt-on.
The free web bolt-on will still be available in future.
The change is that it is one of the options that cannot be applied for later in the contract term, so people should go for it at the start if that's what they want.
It's not uncommon for Retentions to offer 2 bolt-ons free of charge, and anyone who cancels their O2 contract on these grounds won't find 2 free bolt-ons available anywhere else.0 -
YES they are CERTAIN optionals are being removed, that is a "disadvantage" to previous "current" customer options are now being restricted while in current contracts - these changes should only effect NEW customers, it doesn't !
what HiEveryone said was confirmed to me by a MANAGER @ o2 tonight, o2 changed the billing platform tonight FOR ALL CUSTOMERS.
The 5/6 £7.50 chargable bolt ons you could change every 30 days is NO more, only a few exist, the "disadvantage" to customers is to o2's advantage - customers lose flexible 30 day bolt on's in "minimum" contract term, bills go up, o2 makes more money. Customers lose money. As MEEEERRRKAT says "simple's!"

So NEVER call o2
If you bother to read rather than rant incessantly, you will see it is only chargeable bolt-ones that are not available anymore. Free ones are all still there, every single one! Kindly stop giving out wrong information.
By the way, your PAC will have been issued as a 14 cancellation as Hi said, they wont have been bothered. Although I hope you've sent the handset back, if o2 don't get it you'll have your PAC and a nice bill to go along with it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
