o2 removing chargeable bolt ons

I think it's a daft idea to cancel, and highly dubious whether it's a breach of terms as diamonds suggests.
The Vodafone alternative diamonds suggests has no add-ons, and is therefore worse than SIM-only contracts from at least O2 and T-mobile, which can have for example free internet included.
The reason I think it's dubious is that I suspect the loss of opportunity for an unused temporary promotional offer ending isn't necessarily a contractual term, and absolutely nobody is having their existing add-ons derogated (as is misleadingly suggested by the title of diamonds' extra thread to discuss this).0 -
Out of interest, which term or condition do you think o2 have broke Diamonds? EDIT - Never mind, just seen the other thread. Hieveryone took the words out of my mouth with her reply.
Just to confirm to everyone who is worried, if you are already paying for one of these bolt-ons it will continue to stay on your account.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

just to throw a spanner in the works, T&C states you have to have 600 mins to get "a" free bolt on, that's £35 on 28 month'ers & £25 on 24 months as per the o2 web store/website, if you call o2 its £35 for 18 & and £30 for 24 months on customer care's billing system ????
manager also stated more offers are released July 1st apart from what HiEveryone stated in 1st postSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

But you can no longer add or change them to the bolt on's being discontinued, which given the to be "discontinued" 30 days bolt on's are flexible to add or change on your current over the remaining period of contract is a "disadvantage" to yourself.
I just got a issued a PAC code for a NEW contract started on 25th May on these grounds which can be used or "wait & see if the new 1st July changes are worth staying"SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Those on sim only (i.e 30 days) contract will be notified with 30 days notice as per our terms and conditions that we will be removing them, you will have the option of cancelling as all sim only customers do.
No real detriment to any customer, unless you are trying to add a bolt on after they have been removed, in which case we have given notice.
HiEveryone can I just say o2 HAVE NOT GIVEN NOTICE o2 will no longer be able to add a removed "discontinued" bolt on to/from their customers/billing system.
So sim only customers can cancel but in-contract customers cant cancel for EXACTLY the same reasons/changes of T&C ?
LOL who does o2's legal stuff anyway ?SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

Well o2 customer services tonight gave me a PAC on the same terms here argued Redux...RESULT.
I don't suggest anyone goes Voda, their 3rd party outsourced call centres are as bad as 3, I just said getting a free payg with a 30 day sim was a steal
Considering for £20 you get 30 days notice ( can be given on day 1 ), 600 mins & unlimited texts & a free mobile, Europe roaming for the month ( holidays ? ) & £40 quidco and this option gives you 30 days to research your future options...& you can test customer services - thats a short term deal no other network comes close too. 1st July options the manager spoke of to me may have you PAC'ing back to o2 ! - who knows ?
I'll post a picture tomorrow of my FREE mobile when I get to work/time, no camera here for the moment.

err, aren't o2 sim only customers on 30 days contracts which is why they can give notice to cancel when they like (for whatever reason they want)?
NO no no you misunderstand aux lol, its o2 giving notice on the removal of BOLT ON options for sim only customers the way I read it, loyal contract customers will not be informed at any point that the remainder of their o2 contract will not have the option of ALL the chargeable 30 day bolt on's they took the contract out with as o2 are removing these from o2's billing system, so your remaining contract term is no longer the one you signed for, its not flexible as it once was & that "disadvantage" WILL cost you a lot of money over the remaining contract term.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... edit: sorry this was a reply to the post about you getting a pac code.
im pretty sure anyone on any network can request and get a pac code whenever they want diamonds.
the issue is when you use it you dont get a hefty termination fee for your remaining line rental till the end of your contract
im sure this was confirmed by o2 though that this wouldnt happen in your case.0 -

ok, i wasnt aware that o2 was giving notice of this to sim only customers only, not sure why they would do this though.
i guess with law anyone can argue their point in a way to make them seem correct but i don't necerailly agree with your viewpoint on this.
ive only briefly read up on this tonight but o2 are not taking anyone's chargable bolt-ons off them. they are just stopping anyone who hasnt got one from adding one on.
they havent as yet said what (if anything) will replace them.
the way i see it, bolt-ons are promotions anyway, which im sure is stated in the t&c's can be withdrawn or changed at any time.
so i dont personally see why this would give anyone the right to cancel their contract early.
if you've been allowed to leave o2 early as a result then it seems you've got what you wanted. but o2 would have to be consistent with this and if they allow one customer to cancel early as a result then it should be a case for all.
maybe this will become clearer in the next few days.0
