  • Hi guys

By all means debate the subject but don't let it get personal, there's no need.

    Thanks!

    Andrea :)

And not improbable it can happen in the past ppl were saying just like you "oh O2 wont remove 0870 numbers but they did."

And how on earth can you say choice have not been remove when in past they could add different ones (as was shown in earlier posts) but now they cant. There is no question choice has been reduce.

Invented accusation. I'm not aware that I or anyone suggested that 0870 0844 etc would never be removed. As the average price of minutes on contract offers fell from 50p through 15 or 20p to 3 to 6 pence a minute, it was fairly predictable some calls would eventually be doomed.

This was over a year and a half ago now, notified by sms and letter in August, and O2 allowed people to leave early if they wanted, so it's water under the bridge; not much point in carrying on about it now. It isn't a marker or justification for your conjectures about what could go wrong in a few months time. Clearly add-on packages are part of many networks' marketing for some time to come, and are part of the reason for O2's recent growth

There have been variations between range of bolt-ons offered by dealers and by O2 itself, for example many dealers seemed to promote unlimited sms which can easily be unnecessary compared to a few hundred anyway, while direct from O2 had a greater choice, and this might add to confusion either in the past or now.

I was told on Monday that if I wanted to add for example unlimited landlines in 2 or 3 months time, neither that person or his manager was currently aware of any reason why not. So either the info is slow to spread throughout the company, or many people wouldn't be affected.

There have obviously been some changes, but the exact details seem to be still hazy, and there isn't definitive proof here of any actual or incipient breach of T&C about bolt-ons. But people past their minimum contract period would do well to read the retentions thread here and do a new deal.

Can they do this? That is part of what this arguement on this topic is about now :-) if they can or cant. And how ppl like you feel about the change, if you feel strongly call up and moan about it, it seem not enough are moaning about it :-D. But seriously a way round your problem is have you look at O2 family? That have unlimited SMS , calls, MMS etc to set number of O2 numbers. If the SMS you want to use is to your GF who I take it is also O2 customer than you will get the result you want and in fact cheaper as well. Cause you just add one bolt on to one account and it will apply to all the numbers which is chosen on the bolt on. Of course if it is to other networks, than have now to get Three mobile, Orange etc. instead To find more details of the family bolt on goto this link

Thanks very much for the link, this works out nicely. I will ring up o2 and make sure it applies to iphone accounts :)

    Cheers
