I bought a CDA oven and hob around a year ago for the house we rent out. Had a wee problem when the electrics tripped, customer service was excellent, engineer out asap... to find the tenant hadn't read the instructions and didn't reset the oven. Safety feature. *facepalm*

So far the products have been ace and customer services were really on the ball in responding. Impressed.
  • Dishwasher went "bang" at the weekend. Electrics ok. Requested service call via CDA website, but no response, so telephoned customer service today. Long wait until anyone answered. Up front charge of £99 taken immediately and engineer cannot call for another 10 days! watch this space.

    Had this oven since January
Had engineer out 3 times :-(

I have been trying to cook with it for months, keeps burning the bottom of everything. And the top not cooking. The inside not cooking. Google d answers, tried them

Tried everything, thought it was me. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Today bit the bullet and phoned them expecting to hear its me, but no the customer service person said they had lots of complaints about this....and sent me an email of what to do

Bearing in mind I have paid £30 for a double skin top of the range baking try and have put it on every shelf in the oven at all different temperatures

I have bought an oven thermometer to test the temperatures.

There answer....wrap foil around 75% of the wire oven shelf and put it on the bottom...:eek::eek::eek:

Now I ask you. This has already made the oven 15 cm smaller and I've lost a shelf.:mad::mad:

I did actually try it ...more fool me...

Now have to ring them, we`ll see where we go from there...watch this space

Hi we had exactly the same problem, as well as our oven not lighting We had the engineer out 7 times because it was insured, Cda wanted £200 to replace it with the same crap oven, they are the worst ovens ever and I am surprised they can get away with selling them.
After 2 years we scrapped it and bought a slot in Leisure cooker which has been fantastic. I have set up a facebook page to warn people this company is a disgrace.

  • Don't go anywhere near CDA if you can help it. Their post sales and customer services are the worst I've ever encountered for ANY supplier of ANY product.

Complete lack of product knowledge on the phone (tried to tell me microwave didn't have error codes despite the display showing Err003) or when the engineer visits (asked me how to uninstall the microwave).

After hours on the phone finally got someone to work out the error code and agree the part required. Engineers then visited 3 times over a 6 week period in order to book the visits and each time FAILED TO BRING THE REQUIRED PART!! They then said they would dispatch the part direct to me. Never turned up despite them saying they had sent it THREE TIMES!!!

Never call back despite promising to do so, refuse to give any direct numbers do you can bypass the extremely long phone queue and refuse to let you talk to any managers who might be able to resolve your problem.

Over 3 months since reporting the fault we are no nearer a solution and have almost totally lost faith in their ability to perform even the simplest of tasks.

Can I say after all the problems I had with CDA and I'm not saying the problems didn't exist. I wrote on their Facebook page about my non functional oven. Within 24 hours they had contacted me , after exchanging email addresses and telephone numbers.

A lovely lady sorted everything out for me and within 3 days they had contacted supplier and I got all the money back. My oven was 10 months old and not fit for purpose

Synopsis is - the oven was not fit for purpose. Customer service was awful at first.
Contacted Facebook in plain site of everyone. Customer service was excellent. Money refunded within 3 days

  • Hi all. Well, here's my 2 cents. Like most fools in this forum, I bought a whole kitchen with appliances from CDA in 2012. Unfortunately, I didnt have a choice as our supplier only used appliances from CDA at the time. I believe they have now stopped using them. Since the very first time I turned on the oven, there was a problem. The light in the oven would go out by itself after 15 seconds no matter what I did. An oven where the light doesnt stay on? Never heard of it. So I complained to my supplier here in Gibraltar after having narrow read the manual for the oven. After some time a technician came out from my supplier and after checking it out, said it was unfixable and probably a factory flaw. The supplier called CDA numerous times who offered answers like: change the bulb, its a safety feature, etc blah blah. This oven clearly didnt work as intended and I wanted to send it back to CDA in the UK. But after a number of chase ups from my supplier, they gave up in the end. They were getting nowhere on my behalf. So I'm still stuck with the damned thing, and here's the number 2 thing which is even worse: Every time you cook something with a bit of water in the bottom of a dish, say, the water vapor regenerates as droplets on the inside of the glass and runs down into the "driptray" which isnt holding in the water! So it pi**** out the bottom of the oven like a charm, into my drawer below/ and down the lower door. If we hadn't been meticulously aware of the problem all this time, my kitchen unit would have certainly been ruined by now. We have to constantly wipe water droplets from under the appliance when cooking this way. Furthermore, our fridge has to be just under "supercool" to be acceptably cold. You cant leave it on "supercool" all the time, it will potentially ruin the appliance according the manual. But most fridges I have ever owned are super cold on a setting of 4 out of 6. Well, not this one. And the final straw? Our extractor hood has got to be the most noisy one I ever heard!. CDA appliances kinda look pretty cool, well, DONT BE FOOLED!!!
  • The house we moved into three months ago has CDA appliances (electric oven, microwave, hob, extractor and integrate fridge and freezer). I can't comment on the longevity of the appliances nor the customer service (haven't had to use them yet) but can say the products themselves are a bit of a mixed bag. I've only actually used the microwave once so have little to go on there, and the hob and extractor seem to work alright (so far). It's noisy, but I haven't had experience of other brands to compare it to. The oven currently works well enough but shows signs of poor build quality (the rubber door seal is coming away and the knobs feel cheap and flimsy to turn). The integrated fridge and freezer seem to function well enough, but my god the fans are noisy! The fridge in particular sounds like a low-powered vacuum cleaner when it is actively chilling. It's intrusive; I can hear it clearly from the adjacent living room with the door closed!

Although not the horror stories described above (yet), I am not impressed with the design/quality and will be looking to other manufacturers when any of these items are ready to be replaced.
  • Hi, I had a new kitchen fitted in May 2015, and purchased a CDA integrated refrigerator and single gas oven. What an expensive mistake!!! Like you, my oven required multiple attempts to switch it on, then burned everything I tried to cook underneath, as the bottom of these ovens is the hottest part. Customer "service" was useless and very patronising. One person even asked me if I knew I had to turn food over when I cooked it! Since I had burned a casserole that wasn't helpful at all. Had to wait nearly a week for an engineer to call. He suggested covering the shelves with foil - didn't work. Started to have nightmares:eek: about cooking a Xmas dinner with it, so last December I replaced it with a new Bosch oven which is fantastic, and has restored my faith in my ability to cook!! Now my fridge is starting to become very noisy. Just hoping that it isn't on the way out, but no faith in it lasting long. I wish I had seen this site before purchasing these products. Don't buy.
  • Purchased a CDA gas hob around June last year, and it was working fine until a few days ago. My family and I were in the kitchen at the time when suddenly we hear something that sounds like glass crashing against the floor. It took us a moment to realise what it was, but then we found that the glass deck on our hob exploded. Bits of glass flew everywhere, but thankfully, none of us were hurt. Of course, to be absolutely safe, we spent a considerable amount of time cleaning up so that we wouldn't step on any shards.

We have absolutely no idea what caused the glass to do what it did. We called the retailer we purchased it from and they told us that a service person would come to inspect it and decide what to do next. They said we'd be contacted within 24 hours. But it's been at least two days and still no reply.

Next, we tried to contact CDA customer care itself, but it was awkward and impossible to get to them through their website, so we resolved to try and call them. However, when we tried to do so, we were told they "can not connect your(our) call". Though it seemed useless, we tried again and again. After trying for a dozen or so times, we finally managed to get through. The lady told us that the glass deck was not covered by the warranty and she suggested that we get it replaced. When I asked how much that would cost, she put me on hold for while before telling me it would 167 pounds and 57 pence: nearly 200 euro. I pointed out that the glass not being covered by the warranty seemed dishonest, but she told me that I could have found the full details of the warranty on the CDA website. Just wow. What a warranty. After that, I requested a moment to discuss it with my family, and when I got back to her, she had already hung up. Absolutely disgraceful.

Apparently, we got lucky earlier, because when I tried to ring back again, it kept telling me that the call couldn't connect. We must have tried a hundred times before it connected, but when I tried to input the numbers to be redirected to a specific enquiry, my inputs weren't registering and they disconnected me again. Some time later, I'm connected again, but when I finally managed to "talk" with someone, they can't hear me, but I can hear them, and again, I'm disconnected. What kind of customer service is this?!

Not only does the glass happen to not be covered by the warranty and be expensive, but I can't even get through to CDA to request a new glass deck if I wanted to! Seriously! What the hell do I even do at this point?!
