CDA is very basic I'm afraid. We're on our third ice machine and second dishwasher and second fridge. We're out of warranty now so the next thing to break will be replaced with a Miele then as others break we will just replace as we go along with Miele.

Another lesson. Buy cheap get !!!!!!.
  • I have a CDA cooker hood and I am very happy with it, but the washing machine bounces all over the place and the hob ignition is really unreliable...so, I wouldn't recommend CDA :)
  • I have had two Christmasses in 3 years without a working oven thanks to CDA! Two Ovens in 3 years, from each end of the range, both dangerously faulty. First one was basic model which came with kichen. Faulty from the start. Turned out to be burning out through the side - it could have set the kichen alight! Shockingly it took more than one visit by their engineer to discover this (and then only because I insisted he took the back off completely and examine the elements) - until then he had told me to carry on using it!
That oven was replaced by CDA with a £500+ model. It too has gone wrong - the control panel flashes error message and goes off - sometimes immediately, sometimes during cooking. The independant engineer sent by CDA (because I wont have the CDA one anymore after his laziness/incompetence with the last oven) couldn't fix it because CDA refused to send him the new motherboard he requested until he had visited - this 2 days before Christmas - had they done so he could have fixed it. I also discovered that the oven carries on heating up even after the control panel has flashed an error message and gone off - so it looks like the oven has turned itself off when it hasn't!(It was very hot when I discovered this). All of this was reported to CDA on 23 December. It is now 28th December. No one has come back to me. I will update on progress, but in the meantime would advise anyone strongly against buying CDA - I no longer feel safe having one in my home.

A useful thread as I am shopping for a wine cooler and CDA is one the brands that comes up. Will take them off the options list!
Signature on holiday for two weeks
  • It is not worth trying to repair something yourself if you can not, because there is a chance to break even more and then the repair will cost a lot more. I had such a situation with Oven repair miami. And then I had to call the masters

Mine is still going as well... granted, only 18 months in.... but its worked fine keeping my coke's cold all that time :D
  • My CDA American style fridge freezer developed a fault after only 18 months and it took four visits by their engineer and six weeks to complete the repair! The customer service at CDA is terrible and they don't care that you are without a fridge freezer, six telephone calls to their service (or lack of it) centre with an average time on hold of 30/40 minutes each time. The engineer replaced the circuit board, then re-gassed the compressor and eventually replaced the fan - to be honest he didn't have a clue, bless him! The company appear to have little or no help from head office in helping their engineers find a simple fault. Having bought CDA appliances previously I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!! As I said their customer service centre is useless, their engineers have little or no expertise and their turn round time disgraceful! Once this appliance is out of warranty I will use a local and more experienced engineer if needed in the future, which I think is very likely. Please avoid this company!

Sounds like a terrible brand. I would never have thought so as our microwave is made by CDA and so far it works fine. Are they Polish?

The kind of complaints on MSE are reminiscent of my Hoover appliance, which is actually a Chinese owned company now. By far the worst experience of my life, utter garbage product and terrible after sales, which is typical of owning a Chinese owned and made product.
    -  10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.
    -  Triple aspect. (22% ENE/ 33% SSE/ 45% WSW)
    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me if I can help with any energy saving!

You got it in one... It has always been a budget brand with target customers contract fitters and gone downhill from there to the point where it sources whatever they can from whoever makes it the cheapest so usual  Chinese, Turkish and whoever sells something the cheapest in the mix from time to  time. Also incredibly cagey about their appliances, almost impossible ( stand corrected - impossible full stop ) to get any details, or diagrams from them , parts are mostly generic so can sourced if you know what you need. Amica owns it - that is a Polish company, not that it means anything, as european made stuff is usually bit better than chinese made - and they do not make anything themselves, just buy the cheapest possible with their name slapped on.
