Looks as if the viewers who brought along a builder to a second visit will not be making an offer.
Someone is coming at lunchtime to take new photos so fingers crossed.
I have suggested they work out the square footage of the house as it is not obvious how big it really is.

We had a second viewing on Monday by a couple who are currently renting, they put in an offer £15K less than asking, we have had an offer in at £5K less than asking by another couple who are in a chain. Holding on at the moment even though EA is saying things like "was hoping to have this done & dusted by now" to which my reply was "its only been on for 2 weeks!".For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

Still not exchanged yet. Apparantly the solicitor acting for the 1 at bottom of the chain didn't put request in for mortgage funds early & are waiting for confirmation that funds will be in place for Monday. Our solicitor is hoping we will be able to exchange by end of today, or first thing in the morning.
Hope this is the case as I know our buyer wants to move some boxes over the weekend to make Monday slightly easier.
Just find it ironic that her buyers were pushing for early completion & now it is their solicitor that is holding things up.0 -
Our survey took an hour and a half too shirlgirl. He told my husband there was no damp as we knew already and a couple of other things so I dont think she will have course to complain.
Saw a packing kit in home bargains today for £2,99 one of those tape guns things if anyone needs one. I have borrowed one from work or i would have bought one.
We find out about report by Saturday so should know by next week if she is happy then we can instruct our bank to do our survey but house is quite new so shouldn't be too many faults i hope. Packed 3 more boxes last night. Am going to send them to mother in laws as my house is startting to feel cramped!
well how optimisitc was I ! The woman has pulled out today after me spending an hour with her and her survey report yesterday. She was so petty it was unreal. Ours is an old house which obviuosly takes more upkeep than a new one. She quibbled over some really minor things (bubbled paint on one rung of a wrought iron fence, our toliet set moves, to name the most ridiculous things we had to look at). Her main gripe was the guttering and sofits and fascias which we havent replaced but which was reflected in the price, which incidently she knocked down by 6 grand. We have had 2 quotes since yesterday and both came in at under 1 and half grand.
So we are back on the market again as of tomorrow. We are off on holiday thank god on Saturday so at least that will cheer us up. So now we are older and wiser and will be on here longer than I imagined. Now why did I box some of my things up?Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -

Sorry to hear that thrifty, Hope you can relax a bit on holiday. Hope you get another buyer soon.
We have still not exchanged. Still the same situation. I really can't imagine how our buyer feels. If we do not exchange today then she will not know until Monday if she is actually moving then or not. She was almost begging me to let her have a key for the weekend but as much as I can sympathise it is not on. As far as we know it is just a case of when her buyers mortgage funds are being released, nothing else. For us it is just a case of when the money hits our bank account, so we can reduce our current mortgae.0 -
Thrifty your buyer sounds a nightmare! Did she not ask for a reduction or did she just pull out?
Good luck to her finding a perfect survey on a period house, perhaps she should be looking at new builds.
No news here. Just wish things would get a wriggle on..... Hate being in the dark as to whats happening.Pawpurrs x0 -
been chasing solicitors again today. Oh, for competence and customer service! It's so hard trying to work out where in the paperwork the delay is, so you know who to prod.
Oh well. 3 more weeks in the house and then into mates spare room. Will I ever get a new place?? I don't know!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
