Staffordshire 9 months and 3 viewings.
*To add, Started off as a 4 bed semi on at £152,500 after being valued by 5 EA's at £155+, have dropped price 3times and now at £139,950. Changing EA's finally at the end of the month.0 -
thanks you must really be "in the pink". If everyone joins in we should get a good picture of the uk market. It will probably also completely depress me:mad:Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

South east. On market now 11mths, SSTC for the third time.
Four sets of people offered, over 70 viewings, others would have offered but indicated too low, so didnt and some wanted to but were not sstc.
Hoping third time lucky and that this sale goes through.
If your not getting any viewings at all there has to be something wrong, price or photos or useless agent, that isnt on RM?Pawpurrs x0 -
can I ask everyone on here how long their homes have been on the market, it's location and how many viewings? I will start: 4 months, Perthshire and not 1 viewing.
In the southeast, been on one and a half weeks, 4 viewings so far.For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
crap estate agent who is about to get sacked but still curious about what is going on around the country. Do you think this would be an interesting and useful thread then?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

North Hampshire town, on market since April, 8 viewings, 2 offers - one of 7k below asking and one of 5k below asking which we accepted. Have to say that we put it on at 10k below what national agent with large percentage said and went with local agent at fixed price but it seems to have worked and we've SSTC we hope.0

I have to add that i love my EA..they are a bunch of treasures and I can guarantee any convo with them will be a giggle if nothing else!
we initially put ours on the market last year for 235K, and had minimal interest (3 viewings in 4 months in a great part of town with good schools) reduced it to 225 and still had no interest.
we gave up and left it a year and went in at 209, have dropped it now to 200k and from the number of viewings think it is priced well.....(if only those that wanted it had sold), both the offers we have had have been from people who have offered simultaneously on other properties in the area too...i guess the other vendors must have been more desperate to move than us so accepted less than they hoped for?
our time will come...and if not we shall stay put....can't be a**ed to stress about it anymore!:rotfl:Credit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Well my tales of woe with my estate agent are well documented on here. Will not go to0 much into detail again. In summary, after practically rewriting the brochure which they took 3 times to get "right", it still has pretty bad photos, we faced them with the results of our mystery shopping them 6 times. Their argument to not following up any enquiries and not sending info to two of the bogus calls was that "perhaps the callers were not clear in their request as they have found this when such manufactured calls where made before" and "they could tell when people were not real customers". They would listen to the calls (which they do not tell people they record, if, in fact they actually do) and come back to us in 5 days (which is tomorrow). We put our house on the market for 50k less than the previous year when we had a valuation but have not lowered it until we have found another ea. That said - who do we choose now? Very interesting to see the different information from around the country.:beer:Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

maybe we should also mention value of the house to get a better picture. That way we will see what is moving and what isnt
perthshire o/o £365k 4 months viewings 0Smile though your bank is breaking:)0 -
My EA's have been useless too, only still with them as we had to get the money to pay off the HIP,which will be this month then its bye to them. Apart from the 3 calls to book the viewings, they have rung us once to discuss the house. I havent rung them v often due to no time, but they have never suggested to drop the price, no advice etc, usually struggle to get through on the phone, now call me cynical but I wonder if thats due to work or chatting with friends etc. Like you say though, its difficult to tell who is doing their job and who isnt so hard to choose who to go on with next!0
