If anyone was interested in Sarah Beeny's new website to sell their homes she is hoping it will go live this week. Its free and very easy to use (has to be or I'd have no chance lol) and its www.tepilo.com . She is also on twitter if anyone is on there. Like I said before, for me anything is worth a try (can you tell Im getting desparate lol)!0

Well everything seems to be going quite smoothly for us at the moment. Our buyers are going in to sign contract on 13th, (earliest appt they could get that fit in with work shifts.) Hopefully we will have signed before this, I will be phoning solicitor tomorrow to ask about this. So hopefully then contracts can be exchanged. Completion agreed for 20th, & I will breathe 1 big sigh of relief & give up smoking again.
Buyers spent over half an hour yesterday measuring up for furniture, curtains etc while I was cutting grass. (Had a new lawn laid before it went on market & is has been growing at a phenomenal rate)0 -
Good luck rum and coke- know how you feel about feeling nervous. Keep reading of how lots of people have been sstc before an dhow it all fell through. Sat filling in the solicitors forms last night about what we are leaving last night, cant believe some people take door handles tight !!!!!!!s:eek:

No, we're not pulling out. We're happy, our vendor is happy and the family we sold to 6 months ago are happy.
Not sure if my landlord is happy, nor the three purchasers who pulled out, but it's water under the bridge now. I don't wish them any ill. However, I don't mind if, at some time in the future, they take a long time selling the houses they bought!0 -

We had a second viewing before offering more than our initial offer for the place we're hoping to buy, mainly cos we wanted the builder we hope to do the work it needs to have a look and give us a guestimate
 of costs for work.
Good luck, at least you are getting viewings. Am sure I will be moaning when we finally get house on market and nobody at all comes to view! ;-)
Best wishes,
Maggie
thanks Maggie but hubby and I aren't holding our breath! the EA said he had also offered on another one at the same time so maybe they are more desperate than we are and more inclined to accept.
TBH hubs and I are half of a mind to just give up on moving until the youngest is in secondary school and we can then move out of catchment (the area we live at the mo is the more expensive side of town cos of the schools alledgedly)
beginning to question my whole motivation behind it really.....Credit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Don't give up Pink. They've probably been reading MSE and want to make you sweat.
Unfortunately we are going to pull out of our purchase tomorrow. I was looking again at plans that had been passed for the house when I noticed a new application for planning permission had gone in last week on a place down the road. It turns out it is an application by travellers to move just a mile or so down the road. On the basis that this is bound to devalue the house we're going to pull out. There's a nearby village that we wouldn't move to because it has an awful reputation because of the travellers. Now I don't know if what is said is true but the fact that it can devalue your home and make it harder to sell is enough for me. I really feel for our vendors. A lucky escape for us but really bad timing for them.0 -
Well I think we must have a curse on us - due yet again, for exchange of contracts and completion within last or this week - a lightning strike hit the neighbours house, set it on fire, which spread to ours and the fire service used
our house to fight the fire causing water damage to first and ground floors - looks at the mo that we will lose our sale and purchase with all the costs which go with that event. Sorry for the disjointed mail - due to see insurers tomorrow and the stress has just hit high levels.0 -

I know time plays a big part in all these things, but if your buyers can hang on, they'll certainly get a good deal in terms of professional redecoration via your insurers (or possibly next door's insurers?) There are plenty of tradespersons idle at the moment, so with enough chasing, this could be quickly done.
Even if they won't wait, you may be able to recoup some of your losses. If nothing else, be as 'creative' as you can over the refurbishment.
We had the pleasure of having a visitor burn much of our house down in the 80s, but first priority went to our neighbour, whose house was smoke damaged.
Horrible thing to happen, at any time- my sympathy to you & your family. Hang on in there.0 -
oh senora and shygirl that sucks! what rotten weekends you have both had.
it can only get better from now on in surely....:grouphug:Credit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Dear Senora,
So sorry to hear about your unluckiness. Thank goodness nobody was hurt.
Good luck with the meeting with your insurers, hope that they will be able to get things sorted out quickly. I imagine your buyers will be feeling pretty sick too!
Best wishes,
Maggie0
