First post on this thread! We went on the market last week, and have had 3 offers so far. The last offer yesterday is at a price we're happy to accept, but we've got a viewing booked for tomorrow already. We need to get back to the estate agent today and accept the offer.
What's the protocol about accepting offers and having viewings? It wasn't stated when the offer was made that it was conditional on us ceasing marketing, but when we sold our last house that's what we did anyway. In today's market, should we stop having viewings of our house at the 'accepted an offer' stage, or continue until they've done a survey?
I don't want to annoy and lose the buyer, but equally I don't know how's best to play it. Honestly, I don't think I'd be best pleased if I had made an offer on a house and they continued marketing, but on the other hand this viewing for tomorrow was arranged before the offer was made.
What have people here done in similar situations?
Thanks!0 -
good luck emmzi and pawpurrs:beer:
Tizzi..i would probably still take the viewing as it's already booked, you'll probably find the EA stops trying to book them now you have an offer anyway. Mine seesm to stop as soon as anyone shows even a vague interest!
sigh...another day..another viewing booked for tonight (no. 17)
apparently this one is rather good-looking though so thats a plus!Credit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Lucky you Tizzi getting offers so soon , hope all goes well for you. Had a viewer last night , they seemed to like it but havent sold theirs yet , so no great excitement here , hope the weekend brings some viewers for those needing them (including me !)0

Well I can't feel too excited yet. Our last house sale was SSTC and fell through 8 times before we finally moved, and we lost the house we were hoping to buy as a result. So, I'll believe it when I see it, I guess.
Fingers crossed for loads of offers for people this weekend!0 -
Tizzi,
If you dont mind me asking, how long from going up for sale and getting you first viewing?
I was a FTB last time so have got no idea what to expect! we went up on RM today!

£130k (no mansions for me!) and 2 weeks this time - was a week last time. About 8 viewers I think (EA has been doing them for me which is fab).
Please, please let them be able to get a mortgage!!!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
tinofpeas - We signed with the estate agent on the friday, and were called by them the next morning to book 3 viewings for that afternoon. We weren't on rightmove until about the following tuesday/wednesday, and we'd had about 6 viewings by then. I think that might be quite quick though - not sure what the average wait between going on their books and getting viewings is.
Good luck - I hope you're soon getting loads of viewings!0 -
Ok, what does anyone know about home swapping? We are still getting nowhere, and someone suggested home swapping so thought I would ask the experts ;~)0
