  • Well doe Symikins thats a great offer.

Good luck Tibbie's Mum i hope your viewing goes well.

Pawpurrs sounds like your sale is progressing nicely.

No update as such here. Me and dp have come to blows tho, all the stress has got to us and its making for a bad atmosphere here :( To start with we both had the same ideas on what we were looking for but 1) we cant afford our ideal house and 2) we cant agree on the compromise that is needed to buy a suitable house.

To him location is more important as to me its more suitability to our needs but we cant get both arghhh

From someone who has made the mistake of buying a beautiful house in the wrong location, I have to say its not a mistake I want to make again, you can make most things nice, but you cant move it! Sorry that doesnt help much does it?

We have a viewing on Saturday, a family coming down from London wanting to buy a holiday home. Fingers crossed, again!

Thought those were extinct! Still, I can see the point now; I wouldn't want to keep too much of my money in money over the coming few years, if you see what I mean.

In fact, I'm down your way myself today, (if I can get past Glastonbury!) looking at a wood. Trees have proved a better investment than most things in the last few years, and with the price of heating oil......;)

All the best with your viewing.

So true. DW and I looked at lots of lovely places in Wales, but it always came back to the same question: 'But what would we do here?'

I am temporarily living in Somerset and was talking to a guy today whose friend was going to the Shepton Mallet Hospital not far from Glastonbury. The report back were the roads were jammed all around the area and so you should allow loads of time for your appointment.

Why not pop into the mud bath and see what's cracking:D

I have had a lot of viewings from people looking for weekend houses, so guess there are still a lot of them out there.

  • Hi - We live in a 2 bed semi with two babies! We went on the market at the end of May - had two viewers and one offer straight away, but it turns out she is a cash buyer and serial viewer and offerer, who has done this on many houses and has already pulled out of one sale. She is well known for doing this to all the EAs where I live, so we declined the offer. Cant afford to take the risk when we have 2 babies and I go back to work full time in Sept so dont want to be messed about.

Her offer was 15k less than the asking price and she didnt want to negotiate, just went and viewed some others and she still hasnt bought.

We sold my dad's (very sad probate sale) STC two weeks ago and all is going smoothly. So the only positive thing about this awful situation is we will hopefully have more space for our family once we sell ours.

  • no more viewings. We have dropped the price 5k as we are close to stamp duty threshold are are aiming to get 175k. Should help people with that figure in mind filter it better on Rightmove. AGent wanted us to go on at 185k, and it was at 185 when we got the viewers. One was a serial offerer and one has offered on one at 185k that is closer to the centre of town. No interest since dropping the price tho! Agents idea of remarketing was to take it out of the window two days after putting it in with the reduced flag on. They got a phonecall from me and it is now back. Grrr!
  • oo ooo oooooo

A house has come o the market today that would be perfect for us !!!:j:j:j

Its a stone throw from the boarder of the area that dp wants to be in, its got all the downstairs space we need with a fantastic 100ft garden so could extend more if needed / wanted too. It is a bedroom short ( need 4) but most of the houses have loft rooms on the road and because its 25k under our budget we could do the work :T:T

Im going to see it tonight before i got to work, im so excited :T:T
