Never done veiwings before, as we were FTB last time! Any tips?

Also when i got home from work was gutted that a 3bed detached had gone up on our street, thought we were out of the running stright away, but its gone up for 200k! Were a 3bed semi and puting it on for £159,950....why the big jump???

Look forward to getting to know everyone!!

Fingers crossed for you too Pawpurrs:D
Our situation hasnt changed too much, we refused the low offer and suggested one which enable us to get the house we want, placed an offer on that one and are waiting to hear from both of them. Our EA is doing our negotiating for us but house B (one we want) their ea keep phoning us, asked us today if we would consider using their company's soliciting firm as house b owners are and it would help strengthen our position:confused: I said we weren't keen to do this as wouldn't be objective/ unbiased. They said we would have a different solicitor so that wouldn't be a problem. I just don't like the tone of their EA which is why we didn't choose them to start with, don't trust them, they seem a bit del boyish.
had another couple to view tonight, they raved about it. They have a house to sell and have just reduced the price on theirs so if other one doesn't happen maybe this one will? who knows! And we have the one on Sat to do too so lots happening in a way. It's stressful trying to keep the house so tidy and clean with 2 rugrats:rotfl:Suppose i shouldn't complain though, at least we are getting them through the door.

fingers crossed for you PP; do keep us updated,we're all rooting for you!

I received an offer on mine today...but it's far too low for me to consider acccepting. They may come back with something higher but I very much doubt it.

On a slightly better note, I know a friend of a friend (who is respectable!) who is looking to rent somewhere cheaper and bigger than where she is renting at the mo. I'm thinking about going down that road and taking it off the market altogether now and then waiting for a year or so and see what the market is doing then. I'm prepared to take a hit on the rent as long as the house is occupied by someone who won't trash it and at least will pay some of the bills.

    hmmmm. decisions decisions!

I am temporarily living in Somerset and was talking to a guy today whose friend was going to the Shepton Mallet Hospital not far from Glastonbury. The report back were the roads were jammed all around the area and so you should allow loads of time for your appointment.

Why not pop into the mud bath and see what's cracking:D

Detoured, missed the jams & had thunderstorms and flash-flooding instead, though our car kept going, so it was OK. Not so good for some.

Noticed a 3x larger section in the local Devon paper for property and many more sstc signs in agents' windows compared with 6 weeks ago. I guess they are are going flat out for the retirees, downshifters and lifestyle-changers ATM.

As for Glasto, I predict another mudbath, probably today. I swear it never rained in the 70s!;)

  • went to see a house last night, from the details it was perfect but... the bedrooms were very small doubles and the box room was more shoe box than big box. When we left too the house across the road had the local kids ( about 20) all sitting on the wall messing about. They looked about 7/8 yrs old and as we are planig on staying put for at least 10 years i dont like the idea of a large group of 17/18 year olds on my door step.

Going to see another one tonight its been on for a 6 days and the ea said its excepted to sell over the weekend it is a more compromise on location but its perfect...

Three Double Bedrooms ( inc one with a walk in wardrobe)
    Dining Room
    Extended Lounge
    Extended Breakfast Kitchen
    Playroom
    Study
    Ground Floor Shower Room
    First Floor Bathroom
    Double Glazing
    Central Heating
    Large Rear Garden

Will let you know how i get on later.

Good news on your survey Pawpurrs :)
