Grimbal, depends how "contactable" they're being.....they might be playing hard to get with your EA. We had a viewer who came back after 2 weeks for a second viewing, after their first viewing the feedback was minimal. I think house buying turns people strange!
Loving your avatar by the way!"Put the kettle on Turkish, lets have a nice cup of tea.....no sugars for me.....I'm sweet enough"0 -

From a buyers perspective I think the market would work far better if people haggled more. Buyers want to feel they are getting a deal - and when reading news reports that the market it going down, we would like a decent chunk off the asking price.
Your 33% example is ballsy and I like it. I salute you. 33% off property as per monkeys bunny's idea. Brilliant!monkeys_bunny wrote: »unfortunately that is the way it is. we are marketing our property at the value of £124,950 as that is what it is worth (no really it is) but yet we know we will have to take min of £120,000. for all you horrid little "we are so poorly done by" purchasrs out their. but we are prepared for that. wuold be much easier if you would just pay what its worth (yes what its worth, bricks and morter and new kitchen new bathroom etc etc etc the price it is actually worth in pounds sterling)
ahh well
yes, but YOUR example showed a 33% drop on the sale of a car from what you marketed it for - but your house price drop is less than 5%? Why this disparity? I don't think a 33% drop on your house is fair - but it was YOUR example! I think you'd sell it at 99k (which is a 20% drop - a lot less than you were suggesting is required to shift the car!)0 -
Ah that's a shame Grimbal, I am/was the same...totally impatient when it comes to feedback. So much so that I specifically asked my new EA that I wanted some initial thoughts from him on the same day of the viewings, even if he felt it was a yay or a nay. I just didn't want sleepless nights thinking 'oooh they may like it enough to place an offer'.
Hate the waiting, hate the obsession, hate selling lol!

Grimbal & Az, do you let the EA's do the viewings or do you do them yourselves?
Thank you to all posters0 -
MB mostly my EA would do them unless they got stuck, in which case I would. Didn't mind doing them myself as I could gauge a bit of the said 'feedback' myself.

that was what i was going to say, we always do our own and try tend to get a 'feel' for whther they like it or not. we had one lady who came and just spent the whole time telling me about her lovely farm house cottage with oak beams etc etc, no idea why she came to look round really

AzIn actual fact, I just want to set my mind at rest as to whether they're going to follow through on the viewing. Now that I know it was a "no", I'm ok, and have started to settle. It's always the uncertainty that gets tome in life: once I know what I'm doing & where I am I can deal with pretty much anything

Totally understand Grimbal, I am the same...once I know, I can move on, rather than lingering on the hope of something that may not happen!

Normally, the EAs do all of them. This time however, and this was why I was getting so excited, was that the viewers specifically requested that I be there. Really felt I was in with a chance. They seemed to love the house, but struggled a bit with the garden being a bit too small. What really threw me was that apart from the garden being too small , the reason for them not going for my place was that the 4th bedroom was only a box room:could they not tell that on the first viewing/floor plans?!"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

they really confuse me these buyers sometimes with their strange logic.
