It sure has taken its toll on my though. Never again!
Now we just have to find a house to buy, staying with relatives for a while.
Congratulations Whitesatin....:j
Hope your move goes well....
Fingers crossed tiny tear...0 -

Thanks everyone, apparently the story goes she is a first time BTL investor, looking for a property that will ultimately go to her son (who according to the EA loves the property)
They have asked all the right questions, know all about the lease and so on, so they better have spent this time making sums and checking things as the second viewing was on the bank holiday weekend and they haven't come back with an offer yet... not even a cheeky one...0 -
My house has been on the market two years, dropped price by 17% in that period, it's now below Zoopla index, but still it won't sell.
No offers.
Feedback from viewings is always good, no-one says it's over priced.
They say it's very well presented.
Sometimes people say the garden's too big but nothing I can do about that.
We will be taking it off the market at end of September if it hasn't sold by then.
We're downsizing but want to move to a much more expensive area 100 miles away to be nearer to family.
Our budget will buy us a 2 bed terrace.
We currently have a 3 bed detached.
Anyone else been up for sale for 25 months?
I feel totally demoralised by the length of time it's taking and feel my life is slipping by.0 -

Maybe try another agent and get the 3 prices I mentioned in post 5026 above. Is the bottom figure enough to p/ex into a new build near where you want to go remembering the 70/30 split?0 -

I feel demoralised as well and we've only had ours on the market 5 months, I not sure I'd have any hair left after 25 months. I wish you all the best."Holding On For Dear Life" - read my true story of when my fiance suffered a stroke exactly 3 weeks before our wedding.

whitesatin - congratulations! First part of the rollercoaster ride is nearly over
tiny_tear - 3rd viewing?! Any more and I guess you'll be considering them part of the family :rotfl:
MaidMarianofNottingham - sorry to hear you're not having much luck. Having your house up for sale does take its toll, even when you're making the effort to ignore it and carry on life as normal. Perhaps some time away from the selling malarky and relaunching at some time in the future when your batteries are recharged is a good idea. But then again, if you leave that For Sale board in the corner of the garden before you move on with your life, the mythical buyer might just suddenly appear when you least expect itWhichever way you decide to go, I wish you luck.
NEH - good luck with the move. I've got my fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly for you. The only rain we had on furniture moving day was a 30 second shower - that appeared when the matresses came out of the house and dried up once they were in the van . I think they survived it OK but I might just open up the storage unit when I finally find somewhere to live to find that everything has gone mouldy  At least you'll get chance to dry everything out in your new home.0 -

Me too!!!
We also are wanting to downsize (retirement looming all too fast) and to move back to family which is 200 miles away and in a much more expensive area.
We have reduced the price, and changed agents, but still nothing, viewings and feedback have always been positive, but our house is on a main road and I can't change that. We are going to ride it out and are not prepared to reduce any further as it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
We have decided to leave it on the market and just get on with living as much as we can, if we take it off the market it has no chance of selling if we leave it on we have a little hope..........well you never know, stranger things have happened.
I have been watching this thread for, what seems like forever, and have been pleased to see people sell and move on, it does give me hope, after all it only takes one, we bought it and we didn't want to be on a main road either, but we fell for the house, hook, line and sinker!
Good luck

I've just bitten the bullet after a soul destroying 5 months on the market. I've just applied for a buy to let mortgage in order to take equity out of our house in order to raise a deposit for a house to move into. Its a long story (they always are aren't they).
The bank has agreed the buy to let mortgage and referred the other to the underwriters, I think I have it covered though as our circumstances are... well... unusual to say the least."Holding On For Dear Life" - read my true story of when my fiance suffered a stroke exactly 3 weeks before our wedding.

Good luck Fizzystutter. I have a viewing tomorrow from a lady who is doing the same as you. Renting out her house as she couldn't sell it and releasing some equity to buy another. I'm finding the whole selling situation a bit depressing after only 14 weeks, but i'm determined to stick at it as we really are going to have to move at some point. X x x0
