In which case would it not be simpler to insist that your EA does some more work on your behalf and only sends you proceedable buyers, rather than wasting your time?
Would do - except that would mean no viewers at all, so we probably aren't in a position to be too picky!
Oh and the feedback from yesterday is that everything is lovely but our living room is too small, which is a fair comment but not something we can easily fix.0 -
Hi all, lots of interesting news - congrats to all those moving along a bit in their mission to sell...
I'm on a bit of a downer too. Still no idea about when we will exchange (was promised weeks ago) as apparently the solicitors/buyer at the bottom of the chain are just pants, and in no rush. On top of that I've effectively lost the house I was going to move into for various reasons, so now I've got to find a rental property at short notice AND it's got to be in the same catchment school or I lose the admission place probably...
Sigh...will it ever come together, bearing in mind we're meant to be in a new house by the first week of Sep at the latest?

P.S. Am googling like mad, but does anyone know of any good companies online that show private lets? Am looking at the usual letting portals, and gumtree etc, but any ideas?0 -

Probably something you have already tried, but what about the EAs in your area.................0 -
Try the website for your local newspaper - many of these feature the classified adverts that appear in the paper version too.0

Yeeehhhhhhaaaaahhhhhh
Just sold our flat to a FTB for £1K less than the asking price. Been on since late May, had a bit of interest a few weeks ago, then nothing until yesterday when 2 different buyers viewed. Glad it's going to somebody who wants to live in it as the other one was an investor.
Keeping our fingers crossed it all goes through.
Good luck to everybody else.
Damn! Knew it was too good to be true. Flat got down valued by £5.5K at the survey, we've had to drop £3.5K off the agreed price to keep the buyer. Can't wait for it to be sorted now, just want rid.Make £2025 in 2025

harz99 I'm moving to a completely different city 45 mins away, so local EAs don't cover it unfortunately....will keep checking online etc...
Cheap_charlie, thanks for the tip, will look at the local papers there and see if something comes up...

In a similar vein then, do a Google search for EAs in the new City and look at their websites for who has a lettings section.0 -
After a "full and frank discussion" about how misled I felt about a quick sale being completion in "mid September" we got a phone call today and can complete on our sale on 3rd September!!:j
DH has already got a couple of guys with a van ready to move boxes on the 3rd and a removal team to move heavy furniture on the 4th of September.
We still have a relative's bungalow to sell near Whitby and will concentrate on that in the next few months. Can't wait to get moved and settled in ready for winter."This site is addictive!"

Well done elona! Really glad you've managed to get a date so soon.
I've got my first second viewing this evening which is a bit exciting. It's been almost two weeks since they last viewed so either it stuck with them enought for them to still be thinking about it or they've completely forgotten what the place looks like!0 -
:jCongrats Elona, what a relief for you!
I'm still waiting on exchange, and pushing everyone every other day to get some answers....I despair sometimes, but not much else I can do I guess.
Am going to view some rental properties tomorrow, as well as a couple of houses to buy that have been on the market for a while.
Does anyone know if rental prices are negotiable? I've asked about one and have been told there is some movement if we can take it unfurnished (which we can) but just wondering what's the sort of average movement in them...
Hope you all have a good/positive/successful selling weekend
