Chiaroscuro no we're not moving on Saturday....We're moving in September....I posted again to say the removal company have said that they can do the dates in Spetember after all...

and we haven't sold our flat yet, we're in rented accomodation for the moment but in June our landlord gave us notice as he has to sell both his houses so we've now found another rented property...

we have exchanged!! 7 days ago apparently only no-one told us until the buyer rang yesterday after they had a good look around our empty house last week. Supposed to be escorted but the EA sat outside in the car while 3 adults had free rein. Buyer was very complementary, thanking us for the sparkling state and for the wine and card left in a drawer. That isn`t the point though, I am livid with the EA as I gave explicit written instruction that there were to be no unescorted visits as we live away now. There will be a very strong letter going to the EA after we have safely completed

Oh I see, sorry for the confusion. :o

    That sounds stressful.

We've lived in the same place for 26 years(!), though I've wanted to move for about half of that. I really want a little garden and our own personal space. It's now at the stage where I've finally persuaded my Mum that moving is a good idea as looking to the future she could find the stairs a struggle (we're on the third/fourth storey so have two flights of stairs before we get in). Hell, I'm 30 years her junior and find the stairs a struggle myself some days. :D

Interesting thread, looks like a bit of a mixed bag out there on the housing market at the moment. Any Scottish sellers out there doing well?

I'm in the process of selling in South Lanarkshire and have just recieved the draft copy of the home report. The surveyor has mentioned that the sheets on the flat roof "may be cement asbestos". I have sent it back to try to get them to remove the reference to asbestos as the roof sheets are metal profile sheet. fingers crossed they remove the comments.

Hope to get the scedule on S1 homes this week.

Hopefully get it sold before :xmastree:

Just a quick update from me. I managed to get the surveyor to remove all references to asbestos. There is none there so he should never have mentioned this.

The listing has been on the S1 Homes site for over a week now, but only in the past 4 days has it been c/w pictures on the listing and a link to the downloadable schedule. My home report is freely available by clicking through packdetails.com, is this right?

No interest as yet. but probably a good job as it's still a mess after the plasterer came in to complete all the wee jobs I needed done. Should be tidy by the start of next week, so hope I can sort that by the time anybody shows an interest

We have a chain of 4. It’s the same EA for 1, 2, and 3. We are number 4. My EA is busy tending his Jedward hairdo, while the other EA keeps me informed as to what Mr 1 and Mr 2 are getting up to. It’s ‘toys out of pram’ time for Mr 2, who actually has caused a lot of the delay. He’s now attacking Mr 1, the FTBer, and has withdrawn his ‘white goods included’ offer and put his house back on the market…
Well, Mr 2 has it back on the market as ‘unexpectedly available’. We were clearly told at the time it was to ‘liven up’ the FTBers at the final stages as they were dragging their heels.

So I suspect, once again, that whilst working hard on our part of the move, we have deliberately been deprived of information. And oh so likely again now, our newly-found rental property will be lost.

I'm sorry to hear your chain is going belly up not-loaded. I hope the FTBs pick up the pace a bit!

Just has viewing number 3. He was 15 mins late and looked around for 5 mins. Said he was going to see a couple of others and he'd let me know tomorrow. Doesn't feel like he deserved the hours of cleaning we did this morning!
But, he's an FTB with a 'large deposit' so I'm not going to be anything but lovely now in case it's bad Karma!

I would be happy to just have a viewing, I am constantly tidying up and saying to myself just in case, but still nothing. Ideally I need to move before my son starts school in January, he has a few problems, so anything to disruptive like changing schools once he is settled in a school here could set him back alot, and he is doing so well. please let us have a viewing soon.
