Hi all Sellers,
Just had Surveyor round to do 3rd survey now on our house (its a very long story !).
The same Surveyor (!) did one back in March this year and he said to me "its got very busy since March" he actually said he couldn't ever remember it being this busy.
That should be good news for everyone I hope.
Also, just looking on Rightmove a lot of properties by me seem to be selling now - some that are just going on to the market (which I assume are the most sought after) and also some that have been on a while and just dropped their price by £2/3k.
Good luck with viewings over the weekend !:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Just about to get ready to go and meet the surveyor later this morning at the property we hope to buy when phone rings.
The surveyor has just been told the vendors can't be there this morning so postphoned till Monday afternoon now.
Vendors supposedly want a quick sale, but it took ten days for them to find a solicitor, then they were going on holiday for a week but EA had keys so a survey could be done- then story changed again- they were on holiday for two weeks and did not want survey done in their absence. The appointment this morning was arranged over a week ago and then cancelled at the last minute…
I fully understand your worries about whether this vendor is serious. No solicitor lined up, and then a holiday not allowing progress? What are they thinking?…Tbh, as much as we want to sell, unless we get an offer that is extremely good I'd be inclined to hold out, mainly because our EA has been pretty poor (in attitude as much as anything else, which really gets to me) and it would gall me to pay them their not inconsiderable fee unless they got us a really good offer. Sounds a bit snotty I know but we now know what we could get the house we want for and we'd need very minimum of offer we accepted last time…0 -
Yeeehhhhhhaaaaahhhhhh
Just sold our flat to a FTB for £1K less than the asking price. Been on since late May, had a bit of interest a few weeks ago, then nothing until yesterday when 2 different buyers viewed. Glad it's going to somebody who wants to live in it as the other one was an investor.
Keeping our fingers crossed it all goes through.

Well done Slinky great news!
Is anybody else finding this selling malarky just unbearable? Well we had a second viewing last Saturday and since then the viewers have disappeared off the face of the earth so thats not looking hopeful. We've only had 4 viewings in over 6 weeks that we have been on the market, and theres no others booked in for this weekend. I would love a holiday to try and switch off for a week, but we can't stretch this year with saving up for the potential move. I wish i was able to detatch myself a little bit from it all, but I feel like i'm on a roller coaster X x x0 -
Yay, great news Slinky!
Hope it all goes smoothly

My brother has recently had an offer accepted on a house. He asked the surveyor to look out for some specific issues and the surveyor invited him to join him when he went to do the survey. The vendors were asked if that was acceptable, and they seemed happy to grant the request. My brother said he actually spent most of the time talking to the vendors about how the boiler worked etc, and the surveyor called him away a few times when he found something worth mentioning. Can someone also tell me why new builds are getting so much smaller, this one we have just turned down was fine for the living areas but my word fitting a double bed in would have been tight...It had built in wardrobes but still do people only have wardrobes and a bed in their room now...? Do they have the double bed pushed against a wall so that the door can shut??
Properties are built smaller as they cost less to build, using less materials but also so they can fit in more houses on the plots! It's all to do with profit.0 -

UK new houses are the smallest in Europe apparently
