Rosered - Sorry to hear that, hopefully another buyer will come along soon. 6 weeks isn't a long time to be one the market so you should still get plenty of interest :)

We had a viewer around this morning but no feedback yet. According to the EA the local market has now died with the budget coming up & World Cup fever. Also our road closes for gas works for the next 2 1/2 months so not likely to get any viewers while that's happening.

We have to move for my son starting secondary school so just planning if he & I go & rent a small flat while OH & DS2 stay here until it sells & meet up on the weekends & skype each evening as we cant afford to rent a family home while still paying the mortgage here.

I knew I jinxed the sale the other day when I bought a new tv - should have waited until exchange before spending:o

The buyers dropped out as we have a cess pit - surely they should have seen in either the HIP or contract pack over a month ago. Personally if I really liked a house, a cesspit or septic tank wouldnt bother me - they are absolutely no hassle - and what do they expect when we live in the woods in the middle of nowhere? I think it was maybe just an excuse to drop out:(

June so far has been a far better month for us than May was. No viewings at all in May. As soon as we hit June this week alone we have have 4 viewings and one second viewing

    I'm finding June good to!

I gave my agent their 21 days notice in May as I had only 2 viewings in the 1st week of marketing back in April.
So the day they are to lose my business I get a phone call saying that they got someone who want's to see it! Since then that person who viewed it has requested a 2nd viewing! And now the agents have lined up another viewing who is looking for a buy to let!

Talk about the 11th hour eh!!

On top of that, I get another request to view my house, but this time it was down to my own advertising on Facebook's market place.
So I have got this person to come round 30 minutes after the person coming for the 2nd viewing....lets hope they cross paths eh.

That's really bad luck, and so frustrating for you...bit like my first and only other offer, which we would've tied a deal on, but they had to pull out as they couldn't get a mortgage :( We also would like to move in order for my DD to start secondary school in Sep and there's no chance we'll be able to buy in time (or afford it easily for that matter). We're just gonna rent for now and save more, and hopefully the wait will work if prices truly are coming down in the future.

Malystryx good luck for your viewings, sounds promising...

Wheeliewood good luck with choosing the right agents :)

Maybe it was an excuse. Never mind the right people will come along. Wouldn't bother me either if the house had a septic tank. In fact we've got a new house out in the country, oil central heating, septic tank the works, as it is literally out in the middle of nowhere! Don't know how any of it works but we'll soon learn. Besides I heard that having a cesspit or septic tank works out cheaper per year than being connected to the sewers. Knowing that may tempt some more viewings for you:o

Morning All, have been dipping in and out of this thread for quite some time ....

... so after our chain collapsing twice last year (mid Aug and just before Christmas)we accepted another offer from a new Buyer on our property mid-March (lets see, offer number 4) and everything seemed to be going along nicely and we thought our luck had changed - we found a perfect property and even better top of chain as they are going into rented.

We went in to sign for exchange of contracts on 24 May, went to view our house again on my birthday (what a treat!!!), went on a much needed holiday last Friday (after thinking we were going to have to cancel it) waiting all week for a message from our solicitor to say that contracts had been exchanged .....

rang Solicitor on our way home yesterday, our Buyers had not been in to sign contracts ..... rang EA to find out what was going on "Your Buyer has been made redundant" ..... felt like a bomb had just been dropped on us.

So, we think our Buyer want us to wait until he possibly can get redeployment !!! ... they may lose their Buyer meanwhile ??

Our Vendors need to sell to go into rented, so back to square one for them if they can't wait for us to get another Buyer and that is going to take 6-12 weeks if we sell straight away.

Really don't know what to do for the best, take the house off the market / stay where we are (moving for location) ... try and sell again (we did have 2 more interested parties before we accepted offer, not sure if that is the case now!!!) ... could lose our dreamhouse meanwhile.

Do you think someone, somewhere is trying to tell us something - I think so - can't think anymore, my head is fuzzy with it all.

    I feel for you too....

and i can sympathise with bombs being dropped after being made homeless yesterday! :rotfl:

I think the best thing you can do is to find out what is the situation is with all interested parties....find out what the owners of the one you are buying are prepared to do...Once armed with facts then make a decision but not before...
  • Week 43 - Well it's 6/7 weeks since we had our offer accepted and applied for our mortgage and today the mortgage offer arrived from the Woolwich along with the mortgage deed from the solicitor, so in theory the ball is rolling but there is a stipulation on the mortgage relating to the sorry credit card saga Ive had (see prev posts), I'm presuming I just have to show the £0 balance statements of our old credit cards along with their cancellation letters to our solicitor on Monday and that should suffice, but I'm working on the premise that it won't be that simple, nothing else has been!

I've asked for a moving date of no later than 16th July, I've no idea how feasible that'll be, but I hate the idea of all this going over a year and that date will be week 48!

    Hi Karmacat,

This was our 3rd "official" chain, 4th "official" Buyer, 5th "official" accepted offer !!!!

Its all blending into one whole mess !!!

We have gone back onto the market, spoke to a chap yesterday who first viewed our home LAST FEBRUARY! He is very interested in buying our house, the same thing happened to him a few weeks ago and he is awaiting another offer on his property - he may call tomorrow ??????!!!!!!!

I am desperately thinking of any other way to move house without being in a CHAIN !!! Unless we can afford 2 mortgages or rent out that is the only route I think (which we can't by the way!).

Last year I put leaflets through prospective houses offering HOME SWAP - not one bit of interest.

Any other suggestions VERY WELCOME !!!!!

PottyHouse how horrible for you, I think it's the ultimate fear and dread when buying and selling...I really hope you sell without hitches soon.

Our house has a 'Sold' board on and has been moved into the 'Sold STC' section on RM....gulp!
