I am writing this as I feel under seige in my own home.
The buyer's surveyor is here doing the survey. Great, that means the deal is going ahead, so far anyway, BUT he arrived at 10.00 and when I asked him how long it would take, he said he would be here until at least lunch time and probably mid afternoon WHAT!!
It so now almost 12.30. I need to feed the dogs, who are shut out starving. I need to eat as well and I can do nothing. What is taking SOO long?
When we sold our last house the survey took less than an hour I am sure. In all this time he could take the house apart brick by brick.0 -

The thing is I did not have breakfast before he came as I had to do the usual hovering, tidying, sweeping stuff, so I thought I would have a nice peacful breakfast after he had gone. I did not think it would turn into afternoon tea!0

Ewwww, no way! I so hope he's not a pervy surveyor for Vet8's sake...lmao! :eek:0 -
Well my sale is progressing somewhat but of course there is always some issue that crops up. Offer was in late march, survey done, mortgage offer with buyer, etc. All enquiries are back after me chasing and chasing the freeholder and I also had to shell out for another LA search as the one expired in HIP!
So after answering yet another two repetitive (!) Enquiries and agreeing the contract terms...my sol says today we are ready our end. Not bad timing with a lease extension agreed too as well.
Then I find out the buyers sol has just gone on paternity leave and his partner in the firm doesn't want to exchange on a case he doesn't know! Well I blew a gasket and my sol said he can't do this and someone has to take over. So I rang up and not saying who I was gained the name of the person who will deal with it. Still have no faith as it seems to be a very small sols outfit with little staff. Surely the transaction can just exchange still. Can't believe it all ready to exchange and then this. Thought I had heard it all.0 -
Hi can I join you all? Our house has gone on rightmove today. I'm secretly hoping for a viewer over the bank holiday weekend, although I know this is a tall order. Good look to everyone else who is selling at the moment.0

Hey Jen. Good luck
still no news from my end, no viewers or anything still
Thank you to all posters0 -
catching up with the thread again as I've been offline for a while (broken laptop!)
We are still 'on the market' and haven't had an offer yetand because (like everyone!) we need a very quick sale we first reduced from the original price of £129,950 to £124,950 but still didn't get any offers (viewings but no offers) So on the advice of our EA we worked out the lowest we could affordably go (which is £110,000), and are now on the market for OIEO £110,000. I have since read that it's not a good thing to go down the 'offers in exess of' route, so now I'm wondering if we've made a mistake doing this? what are ppl's thoughts on this - I'm worried now.
On the plus side, since reducing it yesterday, we had a viewing this evening, we have a viewing tomorrow and also one on saturday. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that something comes of one of these viewings. good luck to you all xx
